Hundreds to attend Jacksonville screening of controversial education documentary

According to a teacher, in the article, she feels it places too much blame on the unions (I suspect it places the blame exactly where it belongs by placing it on unions).

21 Days until Nov 2: I am the Other Woman

Yesterday Meg Whitman, candidate for Governor of California, received a huge sucker punch from her opponent, Jerry Brown. He called her a dirty name that rhymes with “bore” (like him) and starts with a “w.” You would think the women would rally…

THIS TUESDAY:CITY COUNCIL MEETING - THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT ETHICS

This Tuesday night is the next City Council Meeting. We will not have 200 people show up this week yet we do encourage you to attend as many council meetings as possible.

Get involved and show up wearing your t-shirts -- "Don't Raise My Taxes." Sit as close to the front as possible and remind them that we are still not happy with their votes. You can review the agenda at…

We must sink Sink

The last thing that Florida needs is Alex Sink as governor. We must get the message out that a vote for Sink is a vote for Obama.

We have a lot of work ahead of us.

Like the Japanese, many in America don't get it either.

I emailed a US Representative candidate to fill in some blanks spots in my research. One of the blank spots was "The Tea Party Movement". The

meat of his reply: "... I have been told by a Tea Party member that is

part of the R(epublican)E(executive)C(ommittee); the Tea Party is just the new

face of the Republican Party. Being an Independent,…

23 DAYS UNTIL NOV 2: LIBERTY IN JAPANESE

Yesterday I was interviewed by a television crew from Japan. How the heck did that happen? Some days I wonder what happened to life as I knew it since September 2008. The day we bailed out banks turned many Americans’ lives inside…

24 Days Until Nov 2: Tossing and Turning

Don’t you wish you could be a fly on the wall in the bedroom of those who put America into this terrible mess? Wouldn’t it be nice to see them toss and turn and lose sleep over their jobs in DC.

We’ve been tossing and turning over their poor decisions so it’s about time they lost some sleep too.

We are 24 days away from booting these people out of the seats of Congress and we cannot let up the pressure…

No layoffs in city's new pact with Jacksonville fire union

You really need a game card to keep up with all the changes going on between the city and the unions. I have some concerns about these new conditions running out when the contract runs out as you can sort of feel when reading the article that the fire union thinks they can go back to business as usual (and huge out of touch demands) once this contract runs out. Sad for the city that such a greedy attitude is so prevalent (otherwise, they would have…

Power players in Northeast Florida wielding political influence statewide

I have enlarged one of the comments in this article. The question that begs to be asked. Is this man still on the City of Jacksonville payroll while he is not working for the city in his capacity as an assistant to Mayor Peyton?

They wield far-reaching influence, but still have First Coast ties.…

AISD Gets Money for Sex Ed (how long before they try to start this in every state?)

Does anyone really want Planned Parenthood involved in sex education in our public schools?

10/8/2010

The Austin Independent School District is partnering with Planned Parenthood of the Texas Capital Region and LifeWorks under a new grant announced last week to provide comprehensive sex education in Austin schools. The grant, worth $2.9 million over five years, was awarded by the U.S. Department…

25 Days until Nov 2: Paying it forward as an Angel Activist

Last week the First Coast Tea Party had its first Annual Fundraiser. (Notice I said first because we plan to be here a while and have one a year for many years to come!)

Ginni Thomas was our first Fundraising Speaker. She has been a supporter of the Tea Party Movement and has been an encourager of my own citizen activism since I met her in January of this year.

We work with her and her team at Liberty Central every day as we fight together to Restore the…

A Look Back at the USS Indianapolis

from my blog at http://theatleeappeal.com

So I finished another book. Rarely have I finished a book within 5 days of purchase. However, In Harm’s Way – The Sinking of the USS Indianapolis by Doug Stanton was absolutely incredible. This will end up being a much shorter review than the previous 2 books I’ve discussed because the story was just that intense. Outside the Revolutionary War, there has not been a greater example of…

Jacksonville Beach councilman didn't realize Jacksonville's financial problem

Gee, he isn't going to run again. Probably a good idea as I doubt he could get re-elected after the size of the property tax increase these folks will have in the middle of the worst economic conditions in literally years.

The new councilman said he voted for the 24 percent tax rate hike out of necessity.…

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
