the never ending census
I have several properties in Duval county. I mailed the census in on time and reported 2 of them vacant. I have been called and visited a number of times by census takers to be "sure" that the info was correct. I don't recall my answers to any other census being questioned. Is this redundancy a ploy to keep those temps employed longer? Does some entity suspect that I would enter false info? Are they disappointed in the high numbers of unoccupied homes? A thought about the unemployment rate
As an engineer, when I hear the Pundits say that the rate of unemployment claims is slowing down and that is a good thing, it reminds me of a simple example. Think of a large container that is full of water (full employment, jobs for all) then at the bottom of the container, we punch a hole (economic crisis). The water starts running out at a fast pace. But as the amount in the container decreases (economic slowdown) the water coming out slows down (unemployment rate slows down). Thus a slow… Continue

Recall elections
How does one initiate a recall petition? A primary reason we have so many incumbents re elected is that they have hugh financial advantage. I'm told Bill Nelson of Florida, not up for re-election this year, has literally millions already for his next election and it crossed my mind that if we helped him spend that fighting a recall while having a platform to expose his faults and voting record we could have a long term effect on the political process.
