Think carefully Roma.  Would you really have wanted Pelosi and crew to have had control over our money?  Because that is what you are suggesting when you say we must rid ourselves of the federal reserve bank.  You are saying revert to congress have charge of it.  Would you even choose the current congress to control that function.  We might be in worse shape than we are with the federal reserve if that can be imagined.

Roma, I understand what you mean by all those who have power that is not monitored by anyone including the congress (which is shameful).  The system is totally broken and many of the amendments to our constitution are at least partly to blame.  The problem with getting rid of the 17th and allowing state legislators to choose our senators is the people of the states would be up in arms over not being able to elect them.  But, it would allow the state legislators to remove them as well and replace them with someone who did what they were told to do!  Something that does not happen.  Can you imagine Bill Nelson being put in the senate by this current governor or legislature?  I mean we are the lead on the Health Care supreme court fight and Mr. Nelson voted for the law!

Geneo, thank you for posting this.  As you can see, you chose well as we now have quite a discussion going :).

Roma, I have read and reread what you wrote and it makes no sense to me at all.  Placing term limits on congress does not put more power in the hands of politicians.  It takes power away because they can't be there long enough to do the kind of damage a group of life long members of congress have done.  There is no life long career available if term limits are placed on members of congress.  And if the country could pass the number of amendments they have already, then, one to limit the terms of congress could be passed.  Now, the thing is these elitists won't pass it, because it would hurt the gravy train they have of voting in raises for themselves and cushy benefits and exempting themselves from the things the rest of us mortals have to live under.

Thanks to all you for offering that transfusion of life support to our old gal America. You Sons and Daughters of America are the life blood of this Nation with your comments for a grateful Nation. Keep them coming Lord knows it refreshes the mind and rekindles our thinking process.

Term limits stop the empire building.  The only purpose is not to get rid of people, but to stop the people who do go there from making an empire for themselves where they become rich at taxpayer expense by passing bills that benefit them financially but hurt the people they represent (no matter what hog wash they try to pass on to the voters).  It also stops people like Ander Crenshaw from using the "carrier" pipe dream over and over or Bill Nelson from pretending he is really a centrist when nothing could be further from the truth.  You are right it is about an uninformed electorate that buys in to the same sick tired garbage election after election and protects the rest of us from their poor policies meant to benefit themselves only and gain them status as being above us with better pay, benefits and a different set of laws.  If they must leave after a set period, they come out here with the rest of us and must earn a living etc., and that all by itself discourages some of what has been happening.

Term limits only excuse the voters who are so indifferent to the incumbent they elect so they need a law to tell them to get rid of an incunbent. So we throw out all good and bad no.For example if Corrine Browns disrict want her good let them keep her but If I liked what Alan West is doing great let him keep on geeting reelected. Voters decide not some law to tell me when to get rid of a politican. To much Government control now.

Geneo,

I think Obama might more appropriately be called a Marxist.  He is well past being just a socialist, and he has an eye at dictating everything down from above while living an opulent lifestyle (including his wife and family).  What he offers us is not good enough for he and his family, and he has so stated.  It is ok for him to decide to withhold medical treatment for someone mother or father or child, but you can rest assured, nothing but the best will be served up for him and his family.  The same goes for everything else.  Look at energy.  He goes where ever he wants burning huge amounts on fuel on separate flights for himself, his family, and even flying the dog separately, and yet tells us fossil fuels are passe'.  We are now on green energy, and there are people who are foolish enough to hang on his every lie.

Actually, I want to expand on something I said about incumbents to Roma.  I know you don't agree with my sentiments, and that's ok.  I repect your feelings on the matter.  I know we have some good people in the congress that we would lose if we had term limits and I also understand that some of those folks who are really bad would only be replaced with folks who are equally bad, but because they couldn't stay, some of what goes on now, would not do them any good, because they would be term limited.

There are some candidates more Democrat in thought but cannot be elected so they assume the Republican Badge. Past Mayors and City Councilman of Jacksonville has shown this to happen.  It appears this chain has been broken by the election of Mayor Brown a Democrat. At the National level and growing up under Democrat and Republican Presidents the best i feel was Harry Truman and Ronald Regan. The worst President in the history of this Nation in my opinion is the current President. Another four years of this President and this Country may well die or struggle for years to get well again. If Obama was a Republican I would vote for a Democrat Candidate and I am A registered Republican. It's the Candidate and what they stand for he is I believe a Socialist check his background.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
