Calls Needed Now: “CRomnibus” funds Obama’s Executive Amnesty

The language of the long anticipated “CRomnibus” spending bill finally came available late last night. This $1.1 trillion, 1,603-page bill would fund most of the federal government through September 30, 2015 while extending funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) until February 27, 2015.

Bottom line: It authorizes the federal government to continue President Obama’s lawless activities such as hiring 1,000 DHS employees to fast track work permits for up to 5 million illegal aliens.

This cannot stand. Even Politico is saying “the legislation doesn’t specifically prevent the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services from carrying out President Barack Obama’s unilateral change to immigration law.”

While some in the DC establishment seem to think that the short-term funding for DHS will provide another opportunity to block President Obama’s actions in 2015, no such commitment has been made by House Leadership. This approach attempts to revisit this issue 100 days from now. By then, this amnesty program will be up and running and the current pressure on the President and his allies will have slackened off.

History has demonstrated that if members lack the will to fight now, with all momentum and public opinion on their side, they will be no more likely to take a stand next year. Refusing to even try to stop Obama’s amnesty now is not acceptable.

Call your Representatives NOW and tell them it is unacceptable that the “CRomnibus” does not contain language to defund the president’s Executive Amnesty. House Leadership is whipping the vote all day today and we it is critical they hear from their conservative constituents – YOU!

Use the Heritage Link below for contact, all the information needed is there and it is a quick simple process.

Use the link to access talking points and please put feedback in the last field letting us know what they tell you is the member’s current position now that the language of the “CRomnibus” is known.

Thanks for your prompt action on this!

God Bless You and God Bless Our America.

What did Republicans get in this bill? Why were they willing to allow Obama to go forth with his immigration plan?

Two things. Near unlimited campaign giving to party organizations and to make that effective, transfer of risk for dirivative trading from banks to the American taxpayers. If this is the plan for their newfound power, no thanks.

Just a shout out to all those "conservative" Republicans in the Duval County Republican Party that supported and re-elected crenshaw ....again.

Only 37 days since the election and crenshaw has already sold out the "conservative" Republicans that re-elected him AGAIN.

How you like your boy now?  Still in love with him?   It's ok, he'll have some more slick TV commercials running again in 2 years.

Some people live and learn......others just keep on living.

As you may be aware by now, the long-term spending bill nicknamed "CRomnibus" that some call "A Blank Check for Amnesty" passed tonight by a very close margin, 219-206. The vote was originally thought to sail through and the vote was never supposed to be this close. This is a testament to your diligence and hard work educating your House members on the impacts of this bill. I wanted to send you a statement Heritage Action just released:

Moments ago, the Republican-controlled House passed the cromnibus after very aggressive whipping from President Obama and the White House staff. Heritage Action key voted against the 1,700+ page bill because it amounts to a blank check for Obama’s amnesty.

This morning, the bill’s defeat was seen as likely when the rule to debate the bill passed by just two votes after significant arm-twisting from top Republicans.  According to National Review, “House leadership promised to pull the CRomnibus and replace it with a short-term continuing resolution that would push the entire funding debate into next year.”

Pushing the debate into the early next year would have set the stage for a significant fight to stop the President’s unlawful amnesty.  Instead, House GOP leaders worked with President Obama to fund his executive amnesty.

Conservative lawmakers are livid, and for good reason.

The Washington Establishment is desperately hoping voters and lawmakers will forget about today’s ugliness, but the deception and shenanigans are different this time.  This legislation funds President Obama’s unilateral, unlawful actions, which include granting quasi-legal status, work permits and Social Security numbers to those who are in the country illegally.

Thanks to each and every one of you who diligently made phone calls, tweeted, sent emails, visited district offices and leveraged personal contacts to urge you House member to vote against this bill.  In the end, 5 Republicans from Florida voted NO and they deserve recognition for standing on principle in the face of incredible pressure from House Leadership. Click on their name to access their email, phone and twitter information and please thank them for their courageous vote. These five are:

Jeff Miller

Ron DeSantis

Bill Posey

Daniel Webster

Curt Clawson

Those Republicans voting YES for the bill are:

Steve Southerland

Ted Yoho

Ander Crenshaw

John Mica

Rich Nugent

Gus Bilirakis

David Jolly

Dennis Ross

Vern Buchanan

Tom Rooney

Mario Diaz-Balart

Ileana Ros-Lehtinen

We have our work cut out in January.  Again, I so appreciate all your hard work and persistence and look forward to partnering with you again in 2015.

FYI, this just out. Boehner has a plan B which involves 1) passing a 1 week CR to get past tonight's deadline and 2) pass a 3 month CR rather than whole FY15 sans DHS. Boehner lacks a majority of Republicans to pass the CRomnibus (needs 43-68 democrats to join him, which would break the "Hastert rule").

All this not to say necessarily that 3 month is good as we've not seen it, but to say that calls are working to block the CRomnibus that we KNOW is bad (for a myriad of reasons) and force them from this bad legislation.

Keep up the pressure with this message: #NoAmnesty and vote NO on #CRomnibus.

Also, short term DHS as proposed in CRomnibus is NOT leverage to end amnesty and Boehner has never said what the strategy is, if any, in Feb! Read the Hill's analysis.

"No" votes on the Rule, only Posey from Florida voted NO
We need to reward them with thanks when they make a tough vote for liberty!

Followed the link above (easy!); told her I'm upset & that Congress should do everything they can to stop the President's executive orders regarding amnesty, work permits, and SS for illegal immigrants, and I want Rep Crenshaw to vote no on Obama's spending bill.  She was quick to get off the phone before I could say more!

I just called Crenshaw, They seemed rather bored with the conversation, uh-huh, uh-huh, untill I asked what the hell uh-huh meant! Then they did a better job of seeming interested in the topic, couldn’t tell me how he was going to vote, wouldn’t want to miss-speak you know. We need calls!!
