ATTENTION JACKSONVILLE RESIDENTS:
Let’s pack the house to “Protect First Liberties”
and show your opposition to 296.
The final vote is this Wednesday night
                       August 15, 2012 at 5:00pm (come early)

This Wednesday night, August 15, 2012 at 5:00pm the Jacksonville City Council is expected to have the final full vote on the dangerous proposed ordinance 296 (the so-called non discrimination ordinance) which has caused great disunity and division in the city. We need to pack the house and there is limited seating so please come as early as 4:00pm or even 3:30pm to get through the line and through the security checkpoint and find a seat inside the chamber. Look for our supporters with the Blue stickers that say PROTECT FIRST LIBERTIES . The meeting could last till 9:00pm at night.
Detailed legal information and research on why this ordinance is bad can be found on previous blog posts.

                       ISSUE UPDATE FROM PAST WEEKS:
Three City Council committees debated and voted on Ordinance 296 this past week. Two committees voted to recommend approval of 296, and one committee voted to recommend rejection. More importantly, eight Council Members went on record against 296, and seven went on record in support. That leaves four Council Members who have not yet committed to a position: Bill Bishop, Reginald Brown, Richard Clark, and Denise Lee.

The full City Council will vote on 296 on Wednesday, August 15. We need at least two of the uncommitted Council Members to vote in opposition to ensure victory. People should continue calling and e-mailing all Council Members, but ESPECIALLY the uncommitted: Bishop, Brown, Clark, and Lee.

The link below is provided as a very easy way to send a message to all city council officials.

Please consider sending a personal e-mail to the four Council Members listed above.

Bill Bishop:  WBishop@coj.net

Reginald Brown: RBrown@coj.net

Richard Clark:  RClark@coj.net

Denise Lee:  EDLee@coj.net

We also need people to be at the Council Meeting at 5:00 on 8/15 to visibly demonstrate our opposition. No one will need to speak—they just need to wear a blue Protecting First Liberties

Much of the above information was obtained by e-mail from Florida Family Action

Thank you

Richard Clark and Denise Lee have not recorded a vote in Committee -but - have

publicly stated they will vote YES.

The total right now is 9 YES and 8 NO . Only Bishop and Brown have not publicly stated a position.

We need to change a couple of the YES votes - Which are Boyer - -ANDERSON  -  CRESCIMBENI  - Jones  -  Love  -  -Gaffney  -  JOOST  -Lee and Clark

Those in Caps and Bold are At Large Councilmembers that you vote for in addition to you District Councilmember.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
