So the unthinkable happened after Obama’s speech Tuesday night. Obama made his liberal followers in the media scratch their head and go, “What the hell did he just say?” The teleprompter gave us no specifics on what his plan is. You know things are ugly for the liberal media’s darling boy when MSNBC chastises Obama. Keith Olberman from MSNBC probably had the quote of the week on this speech: “It was a great speech if you were on another planet for the last 57 days.” Even liberal Chris Matthews took some jabs: “Ludicrous that he keeps saying [Secretary of Energy] Chu has a Nobel prize. I’ll barf if he does it one more time (mention a cabinet member has a Nobel prize) . A lot of meritocracy, a lot of blue ribbon talk. I don’t sense executive command.” Here is probably the craziest part of all this. More people in Louisiana believe that Bush handled Katrina better (50%) than Obama is currently handling the oil crisis (32%). These numbers came from the Public Policy Polling. And one more thing that makes you wonder what exactly this president is smoking. This same poll found that 77% of Louisiana voters still approve of off-shore drilling. Oil is a huge industry and job creator in that state. Obama announced in his speech that he is putting a moratorium on all drilling in the Gulf until further notice. Oh how nice. So.. let’s put more people out of work and give these oil jobs a better chance to go overseas! That’ll stick it to Big Oil!

Then, BP caved to Lord Obama’s wishes. BP has agreed to put $20 Billion into an escrow account that will be monitered by Obama’s pay Czar, Kenneth Feinberg. Oh great! The federal government handling more money! Remember the last escrow account attempted to help fix a crisis? Yeah, that would be the $1 Trillion Obama took out of the private sector and put into a “stimulus bill” in order to create jobs. What has happened since that bill passed? Unemployment is up to 10% (mandatory census workers keep it under 10%) from 7%. According to the Washington Times, federal investigators have received nearly 800 allegations of fraud regarding stimulus funds used improperly by federal, state, and local governments. So obviously, that emergency fund is doing wonders.

Let’s look at another crisis where the government took money in order to help who they felt needed it the most. Hurricane Katrina. The USA Today reported back in 2007 that there were over 11,000 potential cases of fraud regarding FEMA funds. Here is what the USA Today had to say about some of these allegations:

Authorities have fielded so many reports of people cheating aid programs, swindling contracts and scamming charities after the hurricanes that Homeland Security inspectors, who typically police disaster aid scams, have been “swamped,” says David Dugas, the U.S. attorney in Baton Rouge. The cases include allegations of fake Social Security numbers or addresses. But authorities also have sought charges in more complex schemes. In one, the police chief in Independence, La., pleaded guilty to overbilling the government for overtime.Other cases auditors had criticized — people spending aid money on jewelry or vacations — turned out not to be a crime, because federal law doesn’t specify how the money must be spent, Dugas says.

So instead of going through the court system where every other form of tort law is used for people to file damage claims, BP caved to the government’s wishes and is handing over $20 Billion to one of the most corrupt governments in modern American history.

Lastly, there is a new Rasmussen poll out showing more trouble for Obama. Only 24% of voters approve of Obama’s performance. 44% strongly disapprove of Obama’s performance which gives Obama a – 20% approval rating. Probably more troublesome for him, is that 52% of independents strongly disapprove while only 12% strongly approve. CNSNews also had a very interesting story to share with the world: “The middle class is abandoning President Barack Obama, according to data released by the Gallup Poll. The only income bracket among which a majority still says they approve of the job he is doing as president are those earning $2,000 per month or less.” Just one more little nugget for you people to think about. What does it say about Barack Obama when the only class of people who have a majority approving him, are those who are the least productive in our society?
