One of our CTDC members attended today's meeting of the PFPF Board of Trustees, at which the PFPF decided to appeal its loss in the Denton case.   (More precisely, the PFPF decided to appeal, in the event the pending motion for rehearing is denied, which the PFPF, per Robert Klausner, expects to occur.   Note - such denials are most common - Courts don't like such motions as a general rule.)

There was a shade meeting, so us nonofficial (public) attendees - our member, Randy Wyse, two FOP unions officials (Archie Amos, and Mark Muchowicz), and 2 other policemen whose names I don't know, plus Clark  - who cannot by law attend FPF shade meetings - had to wait outside the meeting room.

While they waited, Clark shamelessly truckled to the union officials.   He stated that the PFPF should have a dedicated source of funding - dedicated millage, as they call it.    Of course, the union officials ate that up.

The dedicated millage idea is the most horrible idea of all.  Not only would taxes rise, but it would mean that, if the PFPF became fully funded (say, we have a strong bull run in stocks), the dedicated millage's funds would just keep on filling up the PFPF.   Then, the City Council and unions might say - let's boost benefits - we have all this money in the PFPF, and we cannot by law get it back!  

Never underestimate politicians and unions.
