Pressure Already Begins On Newly Elected Tea Party Candidates

The establishment is again using "Emergency" to co-opt newly elected Tea Party candidates. How many will cave in?

(Rand) Paul, he noted, will soon be pressed to vote on raising the debt ceiling, something which O'Donnell asserted is vital to the health of the U.S. economy.

The debt ceiling, he noted, "must be raised on a date certain – at a particular time on the clock, or the United States government goes into default."

Roma, they have to get the education of our children out of government hands. That is not to say that the heads of state departments of education can't meet and talk about programs for all states or goals these education departments want to meet but all states are different and education should meet the requirements of the people in the states as well as teaching students a set of common subjects and competency skills in math, science, English etc. I also think in light of what has now happened in California we need to pass something stating that English is the official language of our country. Right now the Spanish speakers in California think they can require non Spanish speakers to become bilingual so they don't have to learn English (I don't think so and this can't be allowed to happen.........that makes these folks as big a threat to us as the Muslims that want us to have Sharia law).

No problem Tony. I do not feel you hijacked anything. Please feel free to continue your thought, as it sounds good.

Roma and Tom. Sorry, I did not intend to hijack your thread. My original post was intended to point out that if the US were to collect all the back rent for prime real estate in New York presently occupied by people that hate us, we could probably pay down a pretty good chunk of the federal deficit.

It use to be teachers and local communities selected school curriculum, and we had the best education in the world at the time.

But now many States (Florida among them) accept money from the Federal Government, and by accepting it we have to use the curriculum they choose (along with other mandates).

But here is what is even more disconcerting: The Obama administration says they want to start using curriculum chosen by the U.N., and that is why many Republicans are now calling for abolishing of the Department of Education, and returning to what worked when we had the best education in the world.

Collect all the back rent owed to the US by the UN, or tell them to pack their bags and move to Mexico.
