Recent votes by supposed conservative Florida Senators (SB 1698) that will cost property owners millions of dollars seem to have given the Tea Party the old thumb up the nose signal. This bill should have died in committee but nearly unanimous Republican support has pushed it on. Some of these Senators have spoken at our events and even more have spoken at our group meetings. They seem to “get it” when they are standing in front of the crowd but what happens when they get back to their lairs?
The same thing seems to be happening in DC as supposed Tea Party supporters are caving in once again to the democratic left. The recent budget deal was nothing more than a band aid on a gaping wound and everybody knows it. We are still quickly heading down the path to total economic collapse and yet the insane spending goes on. Did we not “take” control of the House last election? It seems the only thing taken once again was us.
There is a weapon that the elected elite are using against us and it is perhaps the most devastating to our freedom. This weapon is apathy and it is brought about by the frustration of trying to get our representatives to do what they were sent to our capitols to do. Instead they are bargaining us away to the highest bidder and some fill their pockets while we continue to loose faith in the system itself.
In a recent local election just over twenty percent of registered voters bothered to show up and the general election promises to have even less. This will most likely accomplish gaining a Democrat Mayor with close ties to Corrine Brown and elect someone that supports the policies of Barrack Obama.
I don’t look at this apathy problem as something we can easily cure and if the status quo remains (which it probably will) we are facing not only economic collapse but that of our country as a free nation. I can see only one current solution and that is to call out these double speaking politicians and refuse to again allow them the stages of our events. We can continue to try to appease them and play the game of politics hoping we get some cooperation along the way, but I personally don’t think we have time for that luxury.
The Tea Party is the best hope for our freedom, and I did not say “last” best because our willingness to defend freedom at any cost is the last hope not the best. Our forefathers had to defend freedom with arms and in the hope that the systems they gave us would prevent such tragedy; they gave us the right to vote. But what happens when the torture of frustration leads the public to such apathy that the system no longer works to defend freedom? What happens when ill gotten money buys the ability to lie to the public and also elected position as it does today?
We live today not under the tyranny of a king, but that of our own apathy and willingness to accept indifferent representation. Regardless if of our own making the problem persists like a plague. It is evident the system is broken and if our efforts cannot prevail, we are destined for dire circumstance and bitter dispute.
This is the time to pursue our failed benefactors of freedom with public ridicule but also time to fully prepare for the eventuality of what they have led us toward. We gave them the opportunity to live up to their words and most of them have miserably failed to do so.
I am afraid too many citizens have relinquished their right to vote from not making any effect on the outcome and too many others listen to the propaganda of the socialist media. Our freedom is ours only if we can defend it from the ignorance of the masses and the corruption of leadership. Today we can use our voices to stand against tyranny and pray that tomorrow we don’t have to do as our forefathers.
