As I read my Bible last night for a little hope after bad news had crashed in on us just days before, I turned to Isaiah 9:6  -- “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

I knew this verse well and most of us do -- even those who do not proclaim to be a Christian.  It appears on cards, video emails and all types of signage during this time of year.

A portion of the verse struck me this time when I read it.  I guess it stuck out because we are moving forward to 2012 and another Presidential election that will change the world – good or bad.  Those words:

‘the government will be on his shoulders’

“Yes, that is the answer the world is looking for,” I thought.

In 2008, Barack Obama was worshiped by many the world over. I remember watching Oprah Winfrey on election night when she said ‘there has never been a night like this on the planet earth.’

How wrong she was.  The night Jesus was born in a manger was bigger and brighter than the night Obama became President.

You see, Oprah, no man can fix the problems of this world.  Only Jesus, the Son of God, has the authority to do so.  He has the government on his shoulders and because we have not leaned into Him, we are a mess.  The entire world is a mess.

God is good at cleaning up our messes.  He’s done it since the beginning of time.  When a mess occurs, we look to man to fix it and then we realize – they can’t.  It is only then that we turn to God and seek His help.

Again, the world is messy.  All men have failed us from the White House, to Congress and to other government’s the world over.  Is it time now to once again lean into Him and let Him run the world government?  I think so.  I trust Him more than any politician because He has my best interest in His heart.  He was willing to send his Son to earth to live among us, to teach us and to train us in the way we should go.  He was willing to die on a cross to show the world that life does not end here.  This is just a place for us to learn to love Him and to love others and tell others about the greatest gift of all – our Father’s love.

“The government is upon His shoulders.”  Doesn’t that sound comforting?

If the people of the world will unite under His authority, just think how awesome that would be -- because the whole world would be in His hands.  That’s my prayer this Christmas and for 2012.  May the one who wins the next election love the one true God with all his/her heart.  May he or she seek counsel from the Wonderful Counselor, and ask for peace from the Prince of Peace because He is our Mighty God and our Everlasting Father.  He will never leave us or forsake us if we believe in Him.

Who will that person be?

Will America reject God again when we elect our next leader?  Or, have we learned our lesson and will we be wise and discerning and believe in the one who has the government on His shoulders and the world in His hands?

Who were you referring to Roy? What did you like that was said, and how do you feel about the discussion?

Beautifully said. Thank you for saying it.

P.S. We are rightfully concerned about moles within, but never stop to think that when a politician speaks like a Conservative, but votes like a progressive, he is a mole.  If he acts like a duck, walks like a duck, and talks like a duck...he is a duck.

True. But the good Kucinich argues for often means bigger government, and more spending.  There are many RINO Republicans (Republicans In Name Only) who vote for the same, even though they say otherwise.  That is not ethical...that amounts to a lie.

Bill, I think kucinich (a Democrat) is honest and ethical, but I don't agree with his ideas at all.

So I look for honesty, ethical behavior, and someone who has a voting record on lower taxes, smaller government, and adherence to the Constitution (see FCTP Mission Statement on main page)

Merry Christmas back to you and to all!  We are blessed!  I know there is a committee in this outfit that deals with the city government, and I would like to make contact.  I will next Monday, when I call the office and I would like us to use a grassroots approach to our "making government work".  Government is the employee that you hire that will expend ten times the effort to keep from doing their assigned project, than if they just completed it "correctly", with a job well done.  I see expendatures brought up and meets legitimate recall and resistance and the "bill" is delayed, officially, when in fact it is rerouted through third tier commissions and lost off the radar with sunshine laws shredded by holding separate meetings, all with the council members, at different places and times to claim compliance with the sunshine statutes.  This is blatant "breaking of the statute", which has no penalty anyway.  Exposure is our only recourse.  Speaking on merit, John Crescimbini has an excellent record trying to keep things above board and after our dose of "alvin" were going to need him in the Mayorial position to help straighten things out.  Whether or not he would want the job is understandably a hard decision to make.

Hi Bill,

As to your concern: Some here are GOP at all cost.  They buy into the idea that only those the GOP approves of are electable. Others are here because they feel that most within the Republican Party no longer represents limited government, lower taxes, and staying within the confines of the Constitution.  So you will find both.

However, as people find out how many of the so called Conservative Politicians are in reality Progressives, they tend to change their minds.

Ayn Rand

"There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil. The man who is wrong still retains some respect for truth, if only by accepting the responsibility of choice. But the man in the middle is the knave who blanks out the truth in order to pretend that no choice or values exist, who is willing to sit out the course of any battle, willing to cash in on the blood of the innocent or to crawl on his belly to the guilty, who dispenses justice by condemning both the robber and the robbed to jail, who solves conflicts by ordering the thinker and the fool to meet each other halfway. In any compromise between food and poison, it is only death that can win. In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that can profit. In that transfusion of blood which drains the good to feed the evil, the compromiser is the transmitting rubber tube . . .

When men reduce their virtues to the approximate, then evil acquires the force of an absolute, when loyalty to an unyielding purpose is dropped by the virtuous, it’s picked up by scoundrels—and you get the indecent spectacle of a cringing, bargaining, traitorous good and a self-righteously uncompromising evil."

Here's the Jax City Council "Office of Audit" of JEDC site, reporting on the corporate welfare disbursed (I think the $8M to the Jax Jags is hidden separately):  Remember this is tantamount to the FOX reporting on the condition of the HENHOUSE!  GO AND CHECK IT OUT!  Does FCTP have a committee that deals with city council misappropriations?  MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Seriously; think of where we'd be with Clinton and WITHOUT Gingrich.  Rockefeller Republican George 41 had successfully allowed himself to be purged from office.  This is '92 with much the same of the scenario of 2008.  The whitehouse and both "legislative" bodies awash with Sol Alnsky liberals.  One thing we learned is Boehner ain't a Gingrich.  Gingrich pulled his tattered forces together and 'splained to them there wasn't but one way out of there, but victoriously through the scurvy yellow dog demorats.  He used the "stump grinding" method of legislating.  Grind 'em down till they bring it to a vote, and if they vote it down, keep bringing it up till they do pass it.  Newt was our president de facto and he was great!!!  I'll guarantee that hussein obama does not waznt to deal with a "GINGRICH"!!!  George 41 was watered down "carpetbaggers special".  Newt was the only man up there.  (remember Clinton had the mumps when he was 12 and was sterile.  Webster Hubbell is princess chelsea's biological father...arranged)

Collecting for our Bahamian Neighbors

Good morning!

We spent last week wondering if we would be hit by Hurricane Dorian.  Thankfully we were spared.  However, the Bahamas were not so lucky.  I am sure you have seen the devastation there.

My daughter has a friend (a nurse) who is arranging multiple trips to the area and will be collecting supplies to take to those areas.  If you would like to help, we will collect things at…
