Jacksonville remains a community with racial divisions. It is time to change the story.
The program is part of OneJax’s Project Breakthrough series and will continue the discussion of WJCT’s “Race in the River City” town hall meeting, hosted by National Public Radio’s Al Letson.
Nina Waters, Community Foundation president, Brenda Priestly Jackson and Linda Lanier, Project Breakthrough alumni, will lead the discussion of race and justice, allowing First Coast residents to hear perspectives of others in the community. This conversation aims to dismantle the structures of racial disparities and build bridges for understanding.
Founded in 2006 in collaboration with The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida and the Aspen Institute Roundtable on Community Change, “Changing the Story of Race in Jacksonville” seeks to raise awareness about the implications of structural racism in diverse populations, as wells as introduce a common framework for understanding the causes of racial disparities. Since its inception, the project has reached corporate and civic bodies, the educational community, media leaders and the nonprofit sector

They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
