Event Description

Invitation to attend a NE regional grassroots “Next Steps Stop Common Core” workshop

RSVP requested : info@floridacitizensalliance.com

Where: Salem Centre, 7235 Bonneval Road, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32256

Threefold Purpose:
1) Review grassroots actions and progress from 2014/2105 cycle for lessons learned

2) Discuss and prioritize our grassroots actions/efforts for “Next Steps”

• Legislative efforts.
• Create add’l alliances with groups
• Technical resources
• Legislative AND School Board Elections
• Legal actions
• Civil disobedience

3) Strengthen our working relationships between grassroots groups

Editorial comment: Many of us believe we have two choices:
• Fix the Schools:
o A Get Congress to kill ESEA and Common Core
o B Get the State Legislature to kill it
o C Get the Governor to kill it by executive order
o D Get the local school districts to reject Federal and State government controls and eliminate common core and high stakes testing locally

• OR Get the children out of government schools

With the money and power arrayed against us, an “All of the above” strategy will be needed. I know we will win, and the faster the better!
