Speaker this month: City Councilwoman Glorious Johnson has graciously agreed to come and speak to us about the ethics commission. Councilwoman Johnson was the council member who initiated the discussion about this commission and will be talking about the rational behind the commission and why she feels it was needed. For those of you who have not met Ms. Johnson, I think you will really enjoy meeting her and having a chance to interact with her about the ethics commission. Hopefully, we will all also have a much better understanding of the need for an ethics commission after our meeting.
We will also be getting some short updates from Vic Cirillo and from Ted Wendler about the outside projects they are involved in.
Please note: Our meeting this month is on a MONDAY night and we will be at the University branch of the library. The Regency Square Library is a polling place and the conference rooms for March and May will be used for early voting, so we will be meeting at the University branch for both of those months.
Comment
We have added some people to our agenda.
We will be hearing from 2 groups from the Arlington area:
Sylvia Millard, president of the Arlington Women's Club will bring us up to date on their group (website: http://www.gfwcarlington.com/
Ann Burt will be bringing us up to date on happenings for Old Arlington, Inc. (website: http://www.oldarlington.org/), and Ann will also be talking about Norman Studios whose goal is preserving silent film history which is tied to the Arlington area (website: http://www.normanstudios.org/)
If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
