Can you imagine anything better than dogs and warriors in one place to applaud and thank them for their service?  I can't and that is why a group of us are supporting and coordinating a special event to raise awareness and funding for the Ponte Vedra based K9 For Warriors.  Check it out at  http://www.k9sforwarriors.org

The founders of this unique and special organization are Bob and Shari Duval.  Some of you may remember Bob Duval as a professional golfer.  He is now retired from the PGA Champions tour.  Their son returned home from two tours in Iraq and he brought with him PTSD.  It hit their family hard and after years of research, they decided to start this organization to help our warriors and shelter dogs.  As Shari states, "When a warrior arrives at our Academy, they arrive on two legs; they leave on six, with their new canine service partner.  We have seen amazing results with our program which motivates us to expand our program and help as many Veterans suffering from PTSD as we can.  Our Veterans have fought for our tomorrows, we are fighting for theirs."

To help this organization, we are hosting the 1st Annual K9 for Warriors Film Festival.  We have invited James Carafano, Vice President for Defense and Foreign Policy Studies at the Heritage Foundation.  Dr. Carafano just completed production of a new 30 minute film -- Veteran Nation.  This film will be shown at our event scheduled for Tuesday evening, June 18th at 7:00 PM at The Hilton Garden Inn in Ponte Vedra.  Seating is limited and the ticket price is $25.  All proceeds will be given to K9 for Warriors.  The flyer is attached.
