Hey Jeanne, check out my email.  Have a question for you.

3-9-2011  Further thoughts on the discussion yesterday - while speaking with our 18 year old guest about the political thoughts of high school students, we asked what they thought about Obama.  He laughed and said, "They think he's a good Catholic!"  He said there really isn't much conversation going on, that most students are more interested in "texting", and that the best method of "outreach" would probably be Facebook.

While on the subject of students, I wondered how the students in Hillsborough County are reacting to the publicity surrounding the School Board meetings concerning members of CAIR being allowed to speak in certain classes.  I wonder if CAIR is being sucessful in "playing the victim" or if the students are glad to have this out in the open.

Also discussed was "Fact Friday", the idea being for groups to congregate at various intersections holding signs on which the simple statement of one fact is printed - one fact each week, stated simply so it can be quickly read.  John has a group called "Pop-up Patriots" which may get involved.

Just before everyone left, I made the comment about how "out of touch" Mitt Romney's wife is, since she stated she doesn't think of herself as being wealthy.  I was chargrined to learn the one out of touch was me!  It seems Ann Romney has survived cancer and her statement, that she didn't view her wealth in terms of money, was taken out of context by the media and spun so that it would allienate people instead of endear them, as it should have.  Good grief, they're skillful!

Anyway, come and join us with your thoughts and ideas.

I think I am going to order another copy of the book so I can pass one around.  Everyone should read How To Kill 11 Million People.  If they think something like this cannot happen in the USA, they need to check it out.  It already did, twice.

Hayden was so cute wasn't he?  A very nice, mannerly young man.  I hope he will come back and give us some good ideas.

Thanks for your write up.  You do such a good job.  It was a pleasure to see you again.

3-8-12  There were 12 of us around the table today.  One member brought along his 18 year old grandson, who actually was interested and participated in the conversation.  He was questioned about the political interests of his fellow students and we brainstormed for ideas on ways to attract their interest.  Also discussed was the need to keep aware of what the school board is doing and how to inform them of the "creeping" changes occuring in text books.  Another topic was the possibility of setting up a booth for voter registration at the Mayport Ferry, as there are often people just waiting for the ferry to cross back over.  And, we talked about forming a book club, perhaps tied in with a facebook page.    Andy Andrew's "How to Kill 11 Million People" was suggested as a quick interesting read.  I've just looked it up on Barnes and Nobles web site and ordered it.  We didn't actually organize a book club yet, but we're thinking about it.  Come and join us next week, with your ideas!   Jeanne

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
