Fellow Activist--
The story surrounding ObamaCare, the President’s signature healthcare law, just keeps getting worse!
This week it was discovered that Enroll America, the “non-profit” entity created to canvas communities signing people up for insurance through the Federal exchange, is being led by former Obama staffers and is directed by big insurance companies including Blue Cross Blue Shield…the same companies that stand to earn billions of dollars from the new customers that are forced to get insurance through the exchange.

Enroll America is nothing but a front group for big healthcare interests!

Government watchdog group Cause of Action has asked the IRS to withdraw Enroll America’s tax-exempt status because it is clear they are not a non-profit serving the public good, but a front group for big healthcare companies.

I am outraged by the continued collusion between big government and big business at our, the taxpayers’, expense. We have to stand up and make our outrage heard.

Please join me this Friday from 12-1pm as I protest outside the Blue Cross Blue Shield offices in Jacksonville. We must show big business and big government that the taxpayers will not be steamrolled by Enroll America and the job-killing, burdensome mandates forced on us by ObamaCare.

AFP-FL Slams Enroll America as Front Group for Big Insurance Interests
Group being challenged on tax exempt status after board revealed to be comprised of special interest beneficiaries.
TALLAHASSEE -- The Florida chapter of Americans for Prosperity, the nation’s largest grassroots free market organization, is slamming Enroll America for benefitting special interest groups, especially big insurance. It’s just another example of Big Business hopping into bed with Big Government at the expense of the taxpayer.
Recently, the government watchdog group, Cause of Action, asked the IRS to withdraw the tax exempt status of Enroll America. Enroll America claims on its website that it is “a nonpartisan 501(C)(3) Organization Whose Mission Is To Maximize The Number Of Uninsured Americans Who Enroll In Health Coverage Made Available By The Affordable Care Act.” However, many of the stakeholders in Enroll America are corporations whose bottom line will directly benefit from more people being signed onto Obamacare.
“It is outrageous and deeply troubling that major American corporations would receive tax deductions to fund a non-profit organization which then turns around and recruits new business, literally signs up the news customers, for that same corporation all at the public’s expense. This is the epitome of corporate welfare and political cronyism. It is wrong and the public should be outraged that corporate America and big government would team up to perpetrate such a scam on the American Public,” said Florida Director Slade O’Brien.
“Taxpayers and patients continue to lose out while insurance companies profit under Obamacare. We support Cause of Action in calling out those that advocated to pass Obamacare, and now stand to directly profit from the activities of Enroll America.
“Even Senator Baucus, one of the key authors of Obamacare, has dubbed the implementation of the law a “train wreck.” Empowering political activists to help insurance companies profit is only a recipe for further disaster. Neither politically motivated community organizers nor insurance companies who are profit-driven put the needs of patients and taxpayers first.”
O'Brien continued: “Health insurance companies should not be profiting from a law that hurts the economy, destroys jobs, and undermines the nation’s fiscal health. Political activists are being lined up to carry the weight for a trillion-dollar industry to force people to buy a private company’s product they may neither want nor need.”
Enroll America is targeting young adults to shoulder the burden of Obamacare, despite the fact that they are the hardest hit by the Obama economy: out of work, in debt, and back in their parents’ homes. As Justice Alito said, “The mandate is forcing these people to provide a huge subsidy to the insurance companies . . . to subsidize services that will be received by somebody else."
