So clearly my point number 1 was correct... Here you are defending your unconstituional beliefs. So I shall refer you to the final point I made...
I will not address any "rationalizations" for the misguided beliefs of conservatives who would endeavor to justify WHY they support legislation or policies that are against the constitution. It always comes down to "my thinking is right" and while I am sure they believe that to be the case... it is still unconstitutional.
But, nice try!
Point 1.) I personally believe in one's constitutional rights as well, the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Point 2.) I default to personal freedom even when it is contrary to my personal beliefs.
Point 3.) My rights end where your rights begin and visa versa
Point 3.) Therefore, I have no problem to anyone praying to whatever God that they choose too or to none at all. As long as you do not show up at my house uninvited, preaching whatever your religious beliefs might be, then you are not infringing on anyone's personal rights by displaying a cross, a picture of Jesus, the Ten Commandments, a picture of Satan or whoever else you may worship. I do not believe in forced prayer in schools but a moment of silence to pray to whom ever you choose to does not infringe upon anyones personal rights and should be allowed. That includes but is not limited to voluntary prayer on public property.
Point 4.) You do NOT have the right not to be offended. If any religious items as mentioned in point 3 above offends you. You do not have the right to have it removed, altered or destroyed. That includes the Rebel Flag, the American Flag and/or any other flag for that matter.
Point 5.) You have the right not to recite the Pledge of Allegiance if you choose not to for whatever personal or religious reason you may have, but again Point 4.) you do NOT have the right not to be offended. You are not forced to recite it therefore the words Under God do not infringe apon your right to life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness. If you want it changed have it put on the ballot and vote on it otherwise just be an adult and deal with it.
Point 6.) Marriage should not be regulated or licenced by the state or federal government at all. It is a bond between you, your spouse or partner and your god and should therefore be a church issue. What two or more consenting ADULTS do in their private lives or who they do it with in the privacy of their own homes does not infringe apon anyone else's right to life, liberty or pursuit of happiness. Therefore it should not be anyone else's business and should not be regulated by any state or federal government.
Point 7.) No matter what your personal beliefs are you do NOT have the right to force a woman to have a child that she does not want to birth, it is her body and her choice. You only have the right to control your own uterus and no one else's. If you don't have one then reguardless of what YOUR personal beliefs are, it is none of your business. A woman has the right to make her own choice, and the responsibility to live with whatever that choice may be. However, if you did not impregnate her you should not be forced to pay for her adoption, abortion or prenatal services. It's her choice and her choice alone to make, but it's her (and the fathers) responsibility to pay for whatever decision she makes. The tax payer should not be forced to pay for her decision, so there should not be any public funding of planned parenthood, that is what charity is for.
That is enough for now. My point is that you do not have the right to force your religion, beliefs or morality on anyone else and they do not have the right to force theirs on you. You may not agree with their speech, their God, or their decisions but you do not have the right to control, dictate or deny others of them unless they somehow infringe apon your right to life, liberty or pursuit of happiness. Like it or not.
Republicans and conservatives do theirselve great harm by trying to regulate the personal and private lives of others. They and this country would be much better off if they would stay out of the personal issues of others. That is where I believe the separation of church and state should be. That is what it truely means to be free. The government is only suppose to be there to protect our constitutional rights. Protection by either the millitary or by creating and enforcing laws limited to those required to protect our lives, liberty or pursuit of happiness.
If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
