My fellow conservatives and lovers of less government and a free America;

 

I don't know how to really start this letter on a positive note but I must say that I am proud to be a member of the "Tea Party Movement".  My wife Mary Ann and I have been watching the disintigration of our country for many years now and were so excited to finally find a group of Americans who were willing to Stand UP and declare, "We've Had Enough".

 

We have watched our values and beliefs mocked by liberal pundits who stand for nothing but big government and a directionless and valueless press who for some reason believes that they're job is to support a "Nanny State" and mock and belittle anyone who believes in independence and freedom. 

 

The press in this country has lost it's way.  They have no shame so you really can't say, "Shame on them".  They mock our military.  They insult our churches.  They support those who want to see our country fail. They support the influx of criminal aliens who sneak under the fence in the back yard rather than coming through the front door. They support the disintigration of our identity by allowing our language to be insulted by "Pressing 1 for English"! 

 

They are championing a President who is rolling this country into Socialism.  They support the increasing of our dependency on government for every single American from craddle to grave.

 

That is NOT what the founding fathers risked their lives for when they wrote the Declaration of Independence and that is definately NOT what the men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice died for.

 

I could go on and on about the damage the liberals are heaping on this country, but I for one feel that the time has come to do something more to stop this travisty.  I am quoting a portion of the Declaration of Independence.  It states....."That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. — Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government.

 

I am suggesting to everyone that we start looking at what the founding fathers put in that document for our protection.  This Congress has an approval rating of 18%.  Did you read that correctly.  Let me say it again.  18%.  Almost 75% of the American people do NOT want this healthcare bill and do not want to be saddled with another Two Trillion Dollar debt.  Did you read that correctly  $2 trillion.  Do you know how big that number is?  If one dollar equaled one second, then $1 trillion is 34,000 years.  That was not a misprint.  And the defecit is almost $14 trillion.  Do the math.

 

These people are NOT listening to you or me.  They are supposed to work for you and me but they could care less what you or I want.  The evidence is in the pudding.  They are going to jamb this bill down our throats whether we want it or not and the public be damned.  I for one have just about as much as I can stand.  It's time for Term Limits.  It's time to throw ALL of these lifelong incumbants our of office.  When I heard Joe Biden say they other day, "I have been doing this job for 34 years"....I have to ask myself....WHY have you been doing this for 34 years?  I can tell you why.  Its because people become so dependant on outside help because it's just easier to let someone else do the job and they enjoy the spoils. 

 

Lets get on the ball an get these people out of office.  Enough is enough.  I know I've rambled on here and I'm very sorry but you must sense the desperation in my tone.  I hope there are more of you out there that share my concerns.  Thanks for letting me rant and God Bless America.

Hey I heard today that the approval for congress was now around 11%...Not too much further to go before they hit rock bottom.
Great points, John. I'm in agreement that our government is now controlling the people...dictating what we can say and how we can say it, what we can own and how we can own it and determining what the quality of life each of us should have and then taking ownership of providing it. Our freedom...our liberty is now nonexistent. The Declaration absolutely recognizes that government has lost its usefulness when it becomes the point, and I do believe we need radical change if this nation is to be saved. I do not, however, support term limits. Term limits, in and of themselves, deny us of our liberty to CHOOSE. We tend to pass legislation like this, then disengage thinking the law will take care of the problem. The problem is, and has been for the last 100 years, that we have failed to engage as people. We have always been able to implement term limits through our votes but we have continued to elect bad legislators who then make bad law. We need to actively participate in the process--as this tea party movement has energized us to do. There are very very few members of congress that I think are worthy of returning to office--and the last vote on healthcare should not be the only issue that is considered.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??
