What a difference leadership makes !!!
Private sector jobs up by 110,300 in 9 months
Unemployment down by 1.3 % points
Taxpayer funded jobs down by nearly 20,000
Last year Rick Scott was elected Governor of Florida with the mandate of reversing the state’s economic decline and putting Floridians back to work. This would have been a daunting challenge for any politician. But Governor Scott drew on his wealth of knowledge and experience building successful companies. He developed a plan, marshaled his resources and managed the state as if it were a business.
Initially, his fiscally conservative programs and reductions in state controlled initiatives were not popular with big government advocates, public labor unions or the liberal media. They howled in response to his disciplined, tough-love approach and made partisan attempts to discredit his efforts.
Despite a decline in his general popularity, he stayed-the-course and has begun to generate economic traction -- stimulating 110,300 private sector jobs between January and September. Rather than worrying about his ratings or his potential for re-election, Governor Scott remained focused on his goal of 700,000 jobs in 7 years and advancing his employment agenda.
Without a doubt, America’s most conservative Governor is getting results. Governor Scott’s pro-business and principled approach to governing is paying dividends. Florida is fortunate to have three more years of Governor Scott’s leadership – and most likely four more after that. Great leadership does make a difference.
