Ok, so who is the Tea Party backing for the Republican nomination? For President? I'm sure you all have done more reseach than I have, so I'd be interested in reading your opinions.

I do understand your point. I felt the same way in 2008. I couldn't stand McCain, but voted for his ticket anyway. Didn't work too well for me. So I guess I have to illustrate my point this way.
A doctors comes in and tells you "Sorry, I can't save your arm. I'll have to amputate. But it will be below your elbow. Maybe four inches below your elbow (Obozo). But if we are real lucky, it will be eight inches below your elbow (any of the 3 main Republicans). Does it really make that much difference whether it's four or eight inches? You've still lost your arm (country). So under no circumstances will I vote for OBozo, Romney, Santorum, or Gingrich. There is only four inches difference in any of them. So I expect to be voting in favor of whoever the Libertarian candidate is. Most likely Gary Johnson, Gov. New Mexico. You may remember him, Cavuto had to shame Fox into even allowing him into the first debates. Took over the Rodney Dangerfield post previously held by Ron Paul in they eyes of those who "select" our possible candidates for us to vote for. (or against)

I will not vote for Obama either directly nor indirectly by not voting. I will vote for whomever the nominee is against him - PERIOD. Any of the Republicans -- Ron Paul, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingritch or Mitt Romney would be 1000 times better than 4 more years of Obama, especially 4 more "unanswerable" years (remember what he was caught whispering to the Russian representative regarding missile defense)! He will cripple this country even more than he has thus far if we are not united in his defeat.
As the primary is now winding down, the choice is becoming clear: Romney or Obama. Yes, there will be other candidates on the ballot come November, but none of them will be strong enough candidates to carry off the numbers to win a national election.
True: we could stage a protest vote for one of the alternative candidates or just not vote. Need I remind everyone that is how we got Bill Clinton in '92 and then Barry Obama in '08.
Ross Perot took nearly 20% of the vote in '92 which handed Clinton the win. Republican voter apathy over Bob Dole handed the win to Clinton in '96. Bush barely won in 2000. Bush had a pretty solid win in 2004 mostly due to momentum in the Gulf War. Barry is now sitting in the big chair I believe due to not many folks liking or supported McCain. I voted for McCain only because he wasn't Barry. I still do not care for "The Maverick".
Romney is not my first choice either for 2012. I worry about his social positions and his weak support of the 2nd Amendment. However, I do not believe he hates his country the way Barry does. I don't think Mit will work towards the destruction of our country, or sell us out the back door to our enemies. I do believe he is a better candidate than McCain was and will be a better president than McCain would have been too. While I don't think Mit will be the next R. W. Reagan, I do trust he will steer the country away from the rocks.

Romney describes himself as a Conservative with Progressive ideas (see video below). A progressive is defined in the following link. But basically a progressive is one who believes in a central government under U.N. rule. So I would gather he is telling us he is a moderate half way between Obama and a conservative.

It's time for the Libertarian Party. If they can't put up a candidate and win this election, they will never be able to.
Hillary Clinton describes herself as a "progressive". Vote for Hillary, Romney, OBozo and you get the same thing in a different wardrobe. It's time for REAL change, not just changing from a cartoon ass to a cartoon pachyderm. Both are a joke and neither will even begin to get this country back to being American again.
Romney is no Regan. You insult Regans memory by even using the two in the same sentence! If Perot hadn't vacillated, had stayed in the race, he very well may have actually won. The reason a third party candidate hasn't won is because of people like you who continue to say "They just can't win. It's a protest vote. You're throwing your vote away." If everyone who said that, if everyone was as sick and tired of the same coin, with just a different side like I am; voted their convictions and patriotism, the grip on this nation by the two primary parties would be broken. Man couldn't fly either. Until he did. Until we get past this lame idea that no one but a Republican or Democrat can win, we will have either a lame Republican, or a Socialist/Progressive/Communist Democrat in control. The end result being the same in either case.
Can't never could. Losers never win. Those with no vision never see the alternatives.

Ross Perot said he constantly received death threats from the establishment, but when they began threatening his family's life, he decided to drop out.
It's silly to hear some conservatives say that they won't support Romney because he's too liberal, or he's a mormon. Do these people really think that some magical candidate will suddenly appear and that we'll all sail to the sunset together after Obama loses? Nope- ain't gonna happen. Romney will be the vehicle we ride from here on out until November.
Never take your eye of the goal; that is, to unseat the Socialist-in-chief. Anything else is secondary, and minor.
The lesser of two evils is still evil. There is an alternative. You don't have to vote for one of the two sides of the same coin. But then, if you begin believing there are only two choices, you've already lost your ability to restore America to the country WE inherited, and have destroyed. Three cheers for the hippies. What was that saying? Drop in, drug up, and drop out? Something like that. Well, we are now suffering from that mindset.
As Senator Jim DeMint explains, the message from the Tea Party to the Republican party remains the same as it was from the start: those of us who are for smaller government, lower taxes and the Constitution have been disenfranchised because the Republican Party has abandoned those principles.
--
Now they want to blame us for what they themselves have created. Government creates a problem, and then wants to solve it with more of the same. We must stand strong in demanding that they return to those principles, or we risk being co-opted only to find ourselves doing their dirty work, and shooting down those who do not want the establishment to think we are so easily co-opted .
---
Every time we say we will vote for the devil just to get rid of Obama, we are sending a signal to the GOP that they have us co-opted, and can do with us as they please. I personally do not want to lead them to believe that we are so easily co-opted. I want to keep the fire to their feet.
_
P.S. They have managed to find other ways to co-opt people to do their dirty work. See this video. Is this OK as well?
P.S. For those of you who are so ready to throw in the towel, and let the establishment have their way with us, watch this video which. IT AINT OVER YET
So take your skirts off, put your pants back on, and stand strong.
Exactly! That's why I say there is only one party with two heads. As long as one of those heads are in control, the body goes in the same direction. It's time for the Libertarian Party to reach puberty!

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
