Ok, so who is the Tea Party backing for the Republican nomination? For President? I'm sure you all have done more reseach than I have, so I'd be interested in reading your opinions.

you would disagree with breaking ranks with insanity? Na, I think Aynn Rand made more sense than you. She lived through Stalin, and knows what she talks about on this subject.
I also think George Washington was wiser than you. We best listen to them.
Patricia M. McBride said:We can all see what breaking ranks has done for us Roma. It has guaranteed us that we will get the establishment pick as the candidate, so your argument isn't really a very good one or valid, since you and fellow RP supporters don't intend to budge on your guy one inch and have already indicated a write in campaign which is akin to voting for Obama. Others who like other candidates are focused on the primary goal of removing the current resident in the white house and putting in a conservative person (please don't berate my comments about conservative again...........it's my opinion and like you, I am entitled to it). Most people, I would hope, will support the establishment candidate eventually is he wins the nod. You might take a look at the Judson Phillips commentary from today about Priorities and see what he suggests if we get the establishment guy as the nominee as we do have recourse.
Patricia, I guess point one would be what your definition of a "liberal" is. Be careful of how you lump people together. SOME OF US JUST HAPPEN TO BE ABLE TO THINK FOR OURSELVES! Point two concerns your establishment candidate. We all agree OBozo is EVIL. I also happen to think the "Liberal Romney" is also evil. and the Southern Democrat Gringrich is likewise evil. And the Moderate (that's right, moderate not conservative) Santorm is still evil even if less evil than the former listed evil candidates. The bottom line is, if you are willing to settle for the lessor of evils, you are still voting for evil. Or in other words, the establishment selected candidate. Evil A or evil B. I choose not to vote for evil regardless of party.

Nice try Roma. I didn't try to set myself above either of the people you are using a your weapon this time. I know that having a conversation with any RP supporter is akin to talking to a liberal, so I quit, but trying to use anyone to justify throwing the election to Obama and get others to follow you off the cliff you want to take off, is as far as I am concerned, is shameful. For some reason, you have spent days and days and days, trying to sway everyone on this site to your way of thinking. I know you haven't noticed, but I don't think it working!
While this is scary stuff, and the alarm does need to go out, do not forget that OBozo can not sign and make treaties by himself. They must be ratified by the "other" clown that runs the Senate, Harry "Krusty" Reid. Hopefully, there are enough conservatives in the Senate, Republican and Democrat, with enough sense to make sure that doesn't happen. We know Nelson isn't that smart, maybe he can be replaced before a vote would come up.

This is off subject, but it should be of concern to all. I fear Ms. Clinton is absolutely correct.
This link sent by Marcie (my tea party friend in Texas), by itself, would not scare me as much as it does when you add the interview of Ms Clinton from a few days ago........pay special attention to the last comment she made at the end of the article which leads me to believe they may try this, because she thinks they can slide stuff through, because we aren't paying attention.

When I made the statement below, I was not referring to the recent Primary but to future elections. Sometimes there is no choice but to vote for the lesser of two evils because no one else is running. But the important point made by Washington and Aynn Rand was this: don't let the establishment brainwash us into believing that we can't go outside of the two party system if we have to.
Also note: Michelle Bachmann, Rand Paul and Allen West (Ronald Reagan for that matter) were all said to be "unelectable ". Thank goodness not everyone listened to that garbage, and we do not have to either.

Aynn Rand was right when she said it is the evil that works like a tube sucking us further into the evil we want to avoid.
In George Washington’s Farewell Address of 1796, he actually warned against the party system we now have. He knew that it would be used to divide and manipulate us, and it has come to pass. But we are like the pigs led to the pen with corn...we try to figure out how to survive in the pen rather than how to get out of it. Our actions will lead to our own demise, unless we break ranks with the insanity.
John,
Are you asking about the definition of a Conservative or Neoconservative? There is a difference.
http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2007/07/the-progressive-mo...
Ken you are very wise. We all need to think for ourselves in these times, as did our Founders during troubled times.
There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class.
One day while the class was in the lab, the professor noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt. The professor asked the young man what was the matter.
The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist regime.
In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked: "Do you know how to catch wild pigs?"
The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line.
The young man said that it was no joke. "You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground.
The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free corn.
"When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming.
When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence.
"They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side.
"The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again.
You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom.
They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn.
They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity."
The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America .
The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc.
While we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time. (don't forget the Patriot act and two party system George Washington warned against)
One should always remember two truths:
There is no such thing as a free lunch.
If you see that all of this wonderful government 'help' is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America, you might want to send this on to your friends.
If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life, then you will probably delete this email.
But God help you when the gate slams shut!
Actually Jack, the spin is continued here and basically for the same reason. They want their candidate to win just as the folks who created the spin on Newt want their candidate to win (at all costs and pull out all the stops including invoking the constitution and who knows maybe they will eventually follow Obama's path of late if they can't turn you or me or countless others...........shameful).
Jack Wright said:
Yes John, elections are won and lost based on "public perception" and a smear job is what is now being done to Newt. Most of what is out there as his "baggage" is again nothing more than false accusations and politically spun propoganda. The house ethics investigation that he was fined for was entirerly the work of the washington establishment. The investigation itself was conducted my Nancy Polosi herself and after a year of closed door meetings ultimately they found nothing of suffient merit to charge him with. However, that didn't matter because the damage had already been done, the public perception had already been created and believed. The FDR comments of his as I have already explained in great detail earlier. They have been completely distorted, spun and taken out of context but again it doesn't matter because once again the damage has already been done, the public perception has already been created and believed by those of you that choose not to look beyond the washington establishments political propoganda.
Just about the only real baggage that Newt has is in his personal life and those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. We are not trying to marry him, we are trying to elect him. The washington establishment does not like Newt, they think that he is dangerous to their power stucture. They fear him because they can not control him. He says what he is going to do and then he does it and he doesn't care whos feelings he hurts or whos authority he questions. Ultimately he answers only to us, the American people and that is exactly why my money and my vote are behind him. He is exactly what this country need at this point in time.
The Primary for Florida is over. Time to move on. It is not about Ron Paul or anyone in particular (that is obvious to the reader because Ron Paul is a Republican) ...it is about all future elections that Ayn Rands and George Washington's words are so important to remember. If we do not learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it.

For those of you who support Santorum, you have something to be hopeful for I think (although it may not last). Right now Santorum is the only one on Rasmussen who beats Obama in their poll.
Santorum Only GOP Candidate Beating Obama, Rasmussen Daily Poll Finds
http://cnsnews.com/news/article/santorum-only-gop-candidate-beating...
At this point I don't care who gets the nomination as long as it is someone besides Romney.
And as for poll numbers they can make them favor anything they want them to, just like statistics. However after the voting has started it is clear, at least it is to me, that Newt was the only non Romney candidate with suffient numbers of supporters to have a chance beating Romney but it's not looking good now for Newt either. So what do we do now?
I really truely do not like Romney and my dislike for him grows stronger by every passing day. Supporting him in the general election is going to turn my stomach worse than voting for McCain did last time. The TP should have united itself around one or two candidates in the beginning (Any two would have worked) but we stood divided and diluted and now I think that we have passed the point of being able to beat him out of the nomination. So what now? Do we rally around him if he gets the nomination or do we just give up, make a stand on principle and just let Obama have it?
As much as it may turn my stomach I am not the type to just give up..............what about you?
Is "Who will it be???" limited to the Republican nominee, or does it include the November election? If it includes the November election then I have a prediction. I arrived at the prediction by looking at history.
Let's go back to the end of the Regan presidency. George Herbert Walker Bush became president, and having not learned much, if anything, from eight years with Regan made the promise "Read my lips. No New Taxes". Of course when push came to shove he caved, just like most Republicans do. Next election he was challenged by Bill Clinton. But, because the electorate was so dissatisfied with Republicans, Ross Perot jumped in. He took about 20% of the Republican vote, giving the election to Bill Clinton with him not ever reaching the 50% mark.
How happy are conservatives with Liberal Mitt Romney? Answer, not very. How happy are conservatives with Southern Democrat Newt Gingrich? Again, not very. And how happy are they with Democrat Lite Rick Santorum? I see a pattern. Not very. Who's left? Ron Paul. But we can't have him. He believes in the Constitution, limited government all those conservative things. Huh?
So here is my prediction. The Republicans being unable to learn from previous mistakes, are not generating the enthusiasm necessary to win the November election. So conservatives will be looking for another Ross Perot this year. And I predict one will show up. History, not being learned repeats itself. OBozo gets to finish destroying the nation, because establishment Republicans haven't got the intelligence to put someone on the ticket that win. Yes, Ron Paul can win. He can win because of Independents and disgruntled Deamoncrats that voted for OBozo before and have buyers remorse.
I'm 66 percent convinced that Who it will be is not a Republican.
I work to turn things back to the principles of the Founders (the Constitution being part of that). However I also know the U.S. (heck, the world) economy is on the edge of collapse...It may already be to late to prevent it. If we do not elect someone who will return us to sound money this time, our chances are even more dire then they are now. But it is what it is. So I prepare for either event, pray for my Country, and do my part to inform others.
Thank you John, Ken and others who are standing up for truth.
If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
