Couldn't agree more. If I recall correctly, and I do, it was during the Clinton Admin that we were told that Character wasn't all that important. Well, I sure hope we've learned. But I do have my doubts.

I have a list of issues I believe to be critical to determining whom I'll vote for in the upcoming elections but the most important, and the very top of the list is character and personal integrity.

Unfortunately, like voting records, monies accepted and stated stands on key issues there is no easy way to determine an individuals character and integrity if they are an unknown or if nothing has appeared in the media.

I believe one of the things we should do as a group is develop a means of as accurately as possible determining a candidate's character and integrity and this should be one of, if not the, most heavily scrutinized items when evaluating and vetting a candidate.

Anyone with average intelligence can learn almost anything and if they are that smart they will hire a competent staff to assist in analysing and evaluating technical issues. But without a solid core character and without personal integrity it is all for naught.

Any takers on trying to develop such an evaluation tool?
