ACTION ITEM: 2 QUICK CALLS PLEASE

PATRIOTS!!!

I'm asking that you make two phone calls today. Please ask others that you know to make the calls also.

First, please, please call Senator Rubio and ask him to urge Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to allow Senator Ted Cruz’s amendment to end the Congressional exemption from Obamacare to come to the floor for a vote this week. Then we need you to call Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to put the pressure on him directly.

Marco Rubio, FL (844) 505-7087
Mitch McConnell, KY (844) 501-2764

Earlier this week, Senator Cruz announced he would be offering an amendment to the Highway Bill that would end the Congressional exemption. This is a bold move and we need to do everything we can to pressure Senator McConnell into allowing it to come to the floor for a vote. This would be another opportunity for us to get the Senate on the record over this very important issue.

If we can get this vote to happen, we will likely get all Republicans to go on the record supporting it and we may even be able to get a few Democrats who are worried about reelection to support it as well. It is critical that we make Congress live under the same laws they pass on the rest of us if we are ever going to fully repeal Obamacare.

Please find time to make these 2 phone calls today!

Thank you for your continued support!

Demand that House Republican Leadership allow floor amendments to Sanctuary Cities bill

Friends,

The House Rules Committee will meet today (7/22) at 4:30 p.m. to establish the rules of debate for H.R.3009, Rep. Duncan Hunter's sanctuary cities bill. We have learned that the Committee will likely approve a closed rule, meaning other House Members will not be allowed to offer floor amendments to the bill.

Hunter's legislation would do some good things. First and foremost, it would block SCAAP funding (reimbursements for incarcerating illegal aliens) to jurisdictions that refuse to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. Had San Francisco's sheriff allowed his deputies to communicate with ICE, the tragic murder of Kate Steinle may have been prevented.

The bill would also authorize the Department of Justice to block grants to state and local law enforcement that adopt sanctuary policies or refuse to communicate with federal immigration agents. However, earlier this year, the House approved an amendment offered by Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) to the Commerce, Justice, and Science Appropriations Act that would have required DOJ to block these grants.

It is unconscionable that the House would respond to the tragic murder of Kate Steinle by moving legislation that is weaker than the language it adopted less than two months ago to defund sanctuary jurisdictions! Furthermore, the Hunter bill fails to address ICE's own actions that have resulted in more than 70,000 criminal aliens with deportation orders to be released onto the streets.

Demand amendments to H.R.3009

Please call House Leadership and demand that they allow floor amendments to H.R.3009, the Hunter sanctuary cities bill. I've listed the House Leadership team with their phone numbers. They have the authority to direct the Rules Committee to approve an open rule. Remember, today's meeting is at 4:30 p.m. ET, so please call before then. You can use the following talking points.

I urge House Leadership to allow floor amendments to H.R.3009, Rep. Duncan Hunter's sanctuary cities bill. The Hunter bill would only address part of the sanctuary problem. The House should be allowed to vote on amendments that would strengthen the bill and address the full problem, including the federal government's release of more than 70,000 criminal aliens onto the streets.

Not to mention, two months ago, the House passed an sanctuary cities amendment to the CJS Appropriations bill that is stronger than the Hunter bill.

How do you expect to explain to the families of the victims who have been killed by criminal aliens that were released by both sanctuary jurisdictions and the federal government that the Hunter bill will prevent future tragedies?

Speaker John Boehner -- (202) 225-0600

Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy -- (202) 225-4000

Republican Policy Chair Luke Messer -- (202) 225-3021

Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers -- (202) 225-5107

YESTERDAY, our new mayor and council voted to spend ALL the money on the new budget. No mention, not one word about underlining debt. The new administration was handed lower continued budgets yet chose to keep spending as though there was not a serious problem facing the people of Duval County Florida. PREDICTION they are planning on defaulting on the Police and Firefighter's Pension Fund. Please tell me what other conclusion could I come-up in explaining everyone patting themselves on the back as they have done a good service to the people in Jacksonville, Florida.

It only took less than 2 minutes to make both calls. We can all do this and make a difference.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
