ALVIN BROWN AND FLORIDA TIMES UNION DON'T HAVE THE COURAGE OR ETHICS TO ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS

THE FOLLOWING ARE QUESTIONS CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR, ALVIN BROWN, HAS FAILED TO ANSWER AND QUESTIONS THE FLORIDA TIMES UNION WON'T PRINT OR ASK ALVIN BROWN, IN ORDER TO FULLY INFORM JACKSONVILLE VOTERS. SO WE'RE LEFT SCRATCHING OUR HEADS AND WONDERING:

WHERE'S THE SUBSTANCE?

Question: Mr. Brown, why do you have the out-of-state Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Obama's Organizing for America, and MoveOn.org here in Jacksonville to run offense for you in this local Duval County election for Mayor of Jacksonville? Aren't those outsiders here, at great expense, in an all out effort to install you in the Mayor's chair, in order to secure Jacksonville and Northeast Florida for Obama to win Florida in 2012? And, why do you allow them to picket for you in front of Republican Party offices to intimidate employees and volunteers who are attempting to go in and out of those buildings?

Question: Mr. Brown, how were you President and CEO of Willie Gary Classic Foundation in Nov., 2009, when Santhea Hicks is listed as Executive-in-Residence and you are not listed on the Foundation's documents? What were your specific duties and dates of employment and when did this Foundation cease to exist? This foundation received over $400,000 from the City of Jacksonville. For what was this money spent, how much were you/your wife compensated, was this a profit-making venture, and why does that foundation no longer exist as formerly titled? Researchers found only Gary Foundation, which is a Willie Gary foundation.

Question: Mr. Brown, what is the Blackbottom/Springfield Human Development Corporation, for whom you served on the Board of Directors from 2005 until 2010? And, why are you no longer serving on this Board? Are you still affiliated with this corporation, or have you severed that connection to run for Mayor? What work did you do for this corporation, that was affiliated with the church of the Reverend Henry T. Rhim? Also, how were you compensated, and in what amount, for this work? Is this corporation totally non-profit?

Question: Mr. Brown, Jacksonville University sent out a press release when you were hired as Executive-in-Residence at their Davis College of Business, in which it was stated that you completed post graduate work at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Oddly, researchers were referred by Harvard University to a website charged with verifications of student enrollment and completion of coursework. They could not verify your attendance there. Will you provide us documentation, herein requested, in the form of transcripts, as well as dates of attendance and evidence of your graduation from that program?

Question: Mr. Brown, the Florida Department of State (FLDOS) shows you in several roles for The Brown Group, LLC, first as "Registered Agent," then, pursuant to a name change, "Chairman Alvin Brown" and "Managing Member/Manager." Santhea Hicks is shown as "Manager of Office." Also shown are two "Reinstatements" and paid reinstatement fees on 10/16/2006 and 6/24/2009. Were those suspensions for non-provision of Annual Reports? Was the Brown Group, LLC a non-profit corporation? And how and in what amount were you and your wife, Santhea Hicks compensated? Is this corporation still operative? If not, why not?

Question: Mr. Brown, what is St. Joseph Community Empowerment Corporation, Doc. #40000005434, FLDOS? Was this a non-profit corporation, what were its stated functions, and what were your duties, responsibilities, period of service, and method/amount of compensation when in service to this now-defunct corporation? Were you on the Board of Directors of this corporation? Why was no Annual Report filed for this corporation?" The FLDOE website states: "Administrative Dissolution for Annual Report."

Question: Mr. Brown, you sold a home to Community Rehabilitation Center, Inc. (CRC) for a hefty profit. Was it a for-profit corporation, what were it's rehabilitative functions, and did you serve on the Board of Directors or have any employment connection or affiliation with CRC at the time the property was sold to them? What was your net profit on the sale of that property?

Is it true that CRC receives all its money from taxpayer dollars? If that is true, did you make a profit off the backs of the taxpayers by cycling this transaction through CRC?

Question: Mr. Brown, you established The Alvin Brown Foundation, Inc. in 2005. This foundation lasted for less than a year. What was the intended function of this foundation, what work did you do in it, who did it benefit, was it non-profit, what was your compensation, and why was the foundation shut down so soon? Who was on the Board of Directors?

Question: Mr. Brown, on your signed and filed Federal Election Commission Statement disclosing your donations to 13 Democrat candidates, you stated that you are an attorney. In which state are you a licensed attorney? The Florida Bar Association website shows that you are not a licensed attorney in the State of Florida. Did you file false information with the FEC?

Question: Mr. Brown, four years ago, you stated you were a partner in the Roger Staubach Company that later merged with Jones Lang LaSalle. They have no record of your ever having been a partner in the Roger Staubach Company. Will you provide verification you were a partner in that company, when and how long you worked there, and why you left their employ?

Question: Mr. Brown, the Times Union stated on May 7, 2011, "Brown portrays himself as a conservative not linked to the national Democratic Party." Is this a true statement? If so, why was a campaign fundraiser held for you in Washington, DC suburbs in 2010, per state election records? Why did the Democratic Party give your campaign more than $300,000? Why did out of town donations of more than $200,000 pour into your campaign for a local mayoral race, per the Supervisor of Elections website? If you are a "conservative," why were you endorsed by Al Gore and your former employer, Bill Clinton, who are in the higher echelon of the Democratic Party? Were you not an aide in Bill Clinton's administration, as reported?

Question: Mr. Brown, your Form 6 posted with the Supervisor of Elections shows you stated Jacksonville University as your main source of income, $24,000/yr,. and that you own Brown Empowerment, LLC. FL Dept. of State records show you are Chairman/Resident Agent, your wife, Santhea Hicks is Managing Director, and you missed the May 1, 2011 deadline for filing your Annual Report, a practice you have engaged in with other corporations. What is the function of this corporation and how and how much are you and your wife compensated?  Also, why have you failed to disclose or publicize this corporation to reporters, Jacksonville University, and in advertising commercials and press releases? And, why are you hiding this information from voters?

Question: Mr. Brown, you tout your experience with HUD as a valuable asset for our Mayor to have. How do you feel about the recent news regarding HUD and it’s mismanagement of monies? It appears you were working at HUD when some of this occurred. What do you have to say about this new investigation? See here:  http://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/a-pattern-of-hud-projects-stalled-or-abandoned/2011/03/14/AFWelh3G_story_3.html

BlackAmericaWeb.com reported: "Brown said if he becomes mayor, bringing jobs to Jacksonville will be good for residents, good for the city and good for Obama since job creation is also Obama's top priority." Do you deny you said that? So, why did you say you were owed an apology for Mike Hogan's linking you to President Obama? You owe all Jacksonville voters an apology for not answering their questions and telling them the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, don't you Mr. Brown? We're still waiting for your answers...

Actually, Sabrina, Governor Scott doesn't have the authority to overturn the results of a county election, he only has authority to appoint or remove state administrative officials, commissioners, and members of state Boards. But, he does have authority to recommend legislation to the Florida State Legislature that would ban national/international labor unions and professional national/international organizing entities from coming in and taking over county elections in Florida counties---entities that are in bed with President Obama's down and dirty political machine.  Outcomes of Florida's county elections should only be determined by legitimate citizens who live and vote in the county where the election is being held.

Obama's Organizing for America, which is essentially part of the old A.C.O.R.N. that has over 200 other organizations under the re-named original A.C.O.R.N.'s umbrella organization, is also international and doing the same kind of organizing and influencing elections in foreign countries. Their former disgraced head honcho was reported to be organizing in countries in Europe.

A place to start would be contacting the Federal Election Commission and requesting that they investigate whether or not Alvin Brown is, as he declared on his disclosure form for his donations he made to 13 Democrats, an attorney.  He's not listed on the Florida Bar Association website as a licensed attorney, and I couldn't find any verification that he is a member of the American Bar Association. A person can't just go around holding himself or herself out to be an attorney, unless they can prove that they actually are. And, no one is allowed to lie on their disclosure statement to the FEC.

Yes, Jerome, Alvin Brown's campaign and the out-of-state carpetbaggers paid for things such as giving free tickets to movies to afford themselves an opportunity to give their campaign pitch to a paid-for captive audience, feeding large numbers of potential Democrat voters free breakfasts and then bussing them to the polls, and even assisting some of them in actual voting. It never ceases to amaze me how many Democrat voters have to have outsiders register them to vote, feed them, haul them to the polls, give them a cheat sheet so they'll remember who to vote for as told, and even assist some of them who don't know what they're doing in the actual act of casting their vote.  How stupid and incompetent are these huge numbers of Democrats, anyway? And, since, the paid canvassers and  "volunteers" were not only paid, but were also provided free local housing and paid cell phone bills, how many of them claimed residency and registered to vote in our county election? That needs to be checked out, also, for it's been proven to have occurred in other states in the past.

Tell us where to go and what to do...J.R. is right on the money. Governor Scott has to correct this scam protrayed as an election. Where do 96,000 votes come from in a sea of red map of Jacksonville? It is astounding!

J.L., I don't blame you for feeling that way. It is discouraging.  The Times Union's blackout against Mike Hogan definitely helped Alvin Brown. It was tantamount to deliberately trying to throw the election to Brown, by discriminating against Mike Hogan and denying him equal coverage in the newspaper, while denying Hogan's supporters---such as First Coast Tea Party---the requested opportunity to exercise their free speech rights in print, through the publishing of questions for Alvin Brown to answer. The Times Union refused... and refused to ask those questions of Alvin Brown themselves and print his answers.  The election was today, and Brown has still not answered our questions. We only heard generalities from Brown, nothing substantive.

Plus, Brown used the same Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and Organizing for America (the new A.C.O.R.N.), which are out-of-state entities that helped Obama win election in 2008. This was a local election, essentially made national by the very fact of who and what entities were involved in it and who provided very large amounts of out of state resources and money to Alvin Brown, one relatively unknown candidate in a notheast Florida county election. They did their same massive registration of voters and getting out the vote that they did for Obama, nationwide, in 2008 presidential election. Was this a level playing field? Not in my opinion.

I know very little about Brown, except that he had a very powerful and rich national/international union, a very powerful and well-funded national community organizing group, a well-funded Democrat Party, and millionaires Al Gore and Bill Clinton supporting and endorsing him. That's pretty extreme for a county election. Sort of like David and Goliath. I'm still praying for our David to win.

The polls closed at 7:00 P.M. tonight, votes were counted, provisional votes are yet to be counted, and there will, in all likelihood, be a recount.  I believe there should be an audit of the election and an audit of each voter's registration during this past year, up to the closing day for registration prior to this election.

We shouldn't count Mike Hogan out. It's not over 'til it's over. And, if Brown ultimately wins, there might very well be a recall.  I researched and discovered that Florida Statutes allow for recall elections for county officials in charter counties, even if it is not in the county's own charter.  Duval County IS a charter county.  I have serious concerns which were posted in the form of questions on this blogpost, and plan to research further and make further contacts. All citizens of Duval County have a right to know the facts about qualifications and prior history of their Mayor, in order to be certain he is qualified, ethical, and trustworthy.  The office of Mayor, carries with it a fiduciary duty and trust. As of now, we don't have enough information about Alvin Brown, to know if he is worthy of of that trust. I don't trust him, just as I wouldn't trust anyone else who hid behind a politically-biased, progressive rag that poses as a newpaper engaged in ethical journalism... The Florida Times Union.  What is Brown hiding from us?  And, why is he hiding it? It's as if he's Obama-Lite, minus the mythical oratory, yet using the same playbook.

Reading the comments, too bad we are too, late... We need to get past that and communicate quicker. This is just a ~*SNaP*SHoT*~  of what is going to happen in 2012 and beyond. We need to be organized and to be able to react very quickly. *sigh*

i am praying and hoping for a good out come in this election, it was great to hear that Webb was defeated, i know i did my part as well as so many more but there are 500,000 plus voters in Duval county, SO WHY did only less than half that participated in a election that affects them closer than the federal election? WHY the apathy? You have more control at local levels, i am beginning to think we have a whole county of idiots and stupid people. We need to reeducate the masses...

Okie DoKie... over iT... forgive my rant but it is soooo frustrating to witness. *sigh*

MAY 17, 2011 RUN-OFF ELECTION FOR MAYOR

ABEL HARDING TWEETS:  ca. 11:00P.M. - 11:30 p.m.

"Folks who rush to nationalize #jaxmayor race don't understand dynamics of coalitions behind @AlvinForMayor and @HoganForMayor..."

"Corinne Brown threw down gauntlet to Gov. Rick Scott, "If he signs election bill, she'll see him at Justice..."

"Rep. Brown sez she has concerns about absentee votes not getting counted, even though her 512 showed id and voted in person..."

Tea Party Patriots:  Now is the time to let Governor Rick Scott know we want him to immediately sign the new election law passed by the Florida Legislature, for it will help to safeguard the integrity and security of the voter registration process.

U.S. Rep. Corinne Brown apparently would prefer that it be lax so that out of state labor unions and Organizing for America (renewed version of A.C.O.R.N.), and other carpetbaggers and political operatives can register Mickey and Minnie Mouse and take elderly patients to the polls and instruct them (ie. control the voting process).  I believe there should be a poll worker to stand beside such accompanied voters to make sure it is the voter who is making the decision and voting for the person of their choice. However, it has been reported as having been done otherwise in this election - and in prior elections.

I'm with ya J. R.   Not voting for Webb.
Comment by J.R. on May 16, 2011 at 8:03pm

Well, Michael, whatever you do, don't vote for Jack Webb, whose buddy Tony Hemmerly, Jacksonville Planning Commission member, was witnessed taking and dumping Matt Schellenberg's signs. The request for a warrant for his arrest for grand theft, is at the State Attorney's office. And, Jack Webb himself was among his campaign workers who verbally accosted Debbie Gonzales as she was campaigning alone for Matt Schellenberg. I personally don't believe Jack Webb, or anyone else who can't or won't run a clean and fair campaign is fit to serve the citizens of Duval County on their City Council or in any other public office. We can do better.

FCTP has endorsed Matt Schellenberg, Dick Kravitz and Mike Hogan, and At Large candidate for City Council, Mr. Robin Lumb. These candidates responded to FCTP surveys and participated in our two big events to communicate with candidates--- Speed Rating (candidates for City Council) and the Town Hall Meeting for Mayor, Tax Assessor, and Sheriff. John Rutherford was endorsed by FCTP for Sheriff and won, avoiding a run-off.

Also, Mike Hogan won the Debate with Alvin Brown. You can read my blog post about the debate on this website, as well as my two other blog posts about Mike Hogan, including his acceptance speech after the first election and his plan to cut $62 million from the city budget. The Times Union has been totally in the tank for ONLY Democrat candidates and have refused to print anything the FCTP has asked them to print. They have also refused to ask Alvin Brown any questions we've asked about his qualifications and fitness to serve as our Mayor.

For the most part I'm voting against all the T-U's recommendation.  There might be an exception here or there but not in the mayoral race.

We haven't passed out mock ballets for people to copy like the democratic machine but maybe we should pass out these questions.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
