Big Government: House Republican Introduces Bill to Block FCC’s ‘Internet Grab’

It is almost hard to keep up with all the good news!!

Rep. Marsha Blackburn introduced legislation Wednesday to deny the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulatory oversight over the Internet, which the Tennessee Republican insisted was the “sole prerogative of Congress” to administer.

“I agree that the Internet faces a number of challenge, ” Blackburn said in a release. “Only Congress can address those challenges without compounding them. Until we do, the FCC and other federal bureaucracies should keep their hands off the ‘net.”

According to Rep. Blackburn’s office, the “Internet Freedom Act” has the support of more than 60 House members, including a majority of GOP’ers on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

The legislation already has bipartisan support, counting among its endorsers Blue Dog Democrat Dan Boren of Oklahoma.

“The only sector of our economy showing growth is online,” Blackburn said. “In these times, for an unelected bureaucracy with dubious jurisdiction and misplaced motives to unilaterally regulate that growth is intolerable.”

But Blackburn, who filed similar legislation in 2009, said the measure is an “intermediate step” to counter the FCC’s recent adoption of Net neutrality rules. By way of a more immediate enforcement countermeasure, her office says she supports invoking the Congressional Review Act, which empowers legislators to invalidate noxious regulatory frameworks developed by federal agencies.

Let’s hope that someone is able to keep this last bastion offreedom free of interference. In my life time I can’t think of any one thingthat has changed society more than free unfettered access to the internet. Nowall of the sudden for some reason it has to be controlled. Why? Is it just becausethis administration seeks to control everything on the face of the earth andnow cyberspace? This is ridiculous to even think that the powers that be cancontrol all the users of the internet. Like all laws they maybe able to forceall of the law abiding citizens to sign up for their permission to log onhowever, as always the criminals that steal cable, satellite, and murder theirfellow man will not comply. Making a law does not automatically insure compliancefurthermore it creates a whole new batch of criminals.  Then we’ll need a new force of enforcers andmore jail space to keep these nonviolent criminals behind bars. Costing societya price for permission to do something that was once costless. This is more ofthe rouse of generating employment by paying me to watch you, to watch her. These new regulation will also choke internet commerce further burring the U.S.A. inregulations simply for the purpose of generating government revenue. Not tomention controlling every aspect of every persons life.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
