Odile, do you have any idea how much signs cost (especially the big ones)? Do you know how much it costs a candidate to replace them when someone takes them and dumps them? No one is being a cry baby, and the candidate this is happening to plays by the rules and does not mess wtih anyone else's signs, because it is the right thing to do.  Apparently, it is also against the law to steal campaign signs that belong to others, but we are not lawyers, so of course we would leave the final determination to the police and those who are more knowledgeable about such things.

Interesting tweets by Abel Harding, including info about some of Times-Union's published donors on list of those who support Alvin Brown, who actually have also donated to Mike Hogan's campaign for Mayor. What are those fat-cats doing... balancing their odds? They must have more money than good sense... or just want to "spread the wealth." Could it be they're donating to and touting Alvin Brown as a show for the carpetbaggers and Obama's Organizing for America goons... and then, when in their own sphere of privacy at the voting booth, they secretly vote for Mike Hogan? Don't you just love people who always stand where it's most beneficial to them to stand? Even if it's on the fence.

Abel Harding is also giving some "sweet" tweet coverage to Jacksonville City Council's President, (and friend of "Sticky-Fingers Tony Hemmerly"), Jack Webb, whose same friend Hemmerly is suspected of stealing Matt Schellenberg's campaign signs. A witness this time!  Tony Hemmerly, who is almost always seen with Jack Webb, was the individual taking the signs.  Tony Hemmerly is also one of the men who came at me on March 17th with Jack Webb, after which I filed a police report and my statement was watered down to nothing.  Too many coincidences here.

It's really interesting, Martin, that the more things change, the more they stay the same.  This is also very true of the career politicians in Washington, D.C., in the political party hierarchies in the U.S. Congress and even in state legislatures. Their resistance to change is an extremely powerful, and often corrupting, force. That powerful and corrupting force was, I believe, at the core of the deliberate perpetuation of the Jim Crow laws and KKK activities..., which were tantamount to slavery in another form. A lot of it was due to fear, also..., a fear of what the new power structure would become and what their place would be in it.  And, as you said, some adapted to it, took advantage of it, and benefitted from it, even if in an illegal way.  It's an ugly part of our history that some, on both sides, hold on to to keep the deep-seated mistrust and hatred burning,  I remember feeling liberated from all of it when I left South Carolina to attend graduate school in Santa Barbara, California.  It was like a culture warp and, with my southern drawl, I sort of stuck out for a while.  Then I met and got to know grad students and professors from many other countries and found that, with all our different backgrounds, we got along amazingly well, played bridge and did other things together in the university and its surround---sort of like a melting pot of cultures and ideas. It's a shame it can't be like that everywhere, especially in this country where we should celebrate our freedoms and the things we do have in common with one another. Thanks for your kind words.

Wow! I love it when people agree with me. Martin, your description of the Times-Union is so true. Just reading about the Ku Klux Klan and the Jim Crow laws is a real eye-opener and gives the lie to the Democrats' attempts to paint Republicans with the KKK label to throw people off on the facts... true hypocrisy, and they have gotten a lot of mileage out of that deliberate misrepresentation... and, very likely, a lot of campaign contributons. They wouldn't be Democrats if they weren't labeling, lying, and distorting the truth. They go to a lot of trouble to hide what they really are... but, just recently, some of them have gone to such extremes that they just let it all hang out. Those are the ones I refer to as the "crazed left."

Below is the link to the search page, the search results of which confirm that the KKK was a Democrat "terrorist group" that was aligned with the Democrat Party, NOT the Republicans and the Republican Party. Of course, we all know the Democrats have long tried to re-write the history of that, just like they have re-written the rest of this country's early history... or eliminated it. We also know that former Democrat U.S. Senator James Byrd, one of the longest-serving members of the U.S.Congress, was a Grand Kleagle of the Ku Klux Klan.

(This is about what I expected from that liberal-progressive yellow journalism rag. Luckily fewer and fewer people are subscribing to and reading it.  They've had to reduce page sizes, column widths, and number of words in articles due to declining revenues.  They are now the dinosaur media and they toe the Democrat Party's political line.  Journalists are supposed to present legitimate news, not make the news and politically influence the news.  What they engage in is yellow journalism and being a tool of the progressive political left.  J.R.)

Large signs can be set in cement (quick set) and the actual sign screwed on.
