On September 28^th last year, hundreds of Duval citizens gathered in city council chambers and participated in a marathon budget vote lasting into the wee hours of the morning with many of our council members voting to raise your taxes.  It is once again that time of year and on September 27^th, city council will undertake this task again; déjà vu.

However, there is a difference between last year and this year.  Last year First Coast Tea Party members promised to vote out those council members who voted to raise our taxes and we did.

Once again, your voice is needed; city council needs to hear from you; raising taxes is not an option in this economy.  Call and/or email your council members.  Also, on September 27^th at 5PM in city council chambers, we need a BIG presence.  We must let our council members know; if you vote to raise taxes, we will do our best to vote you out.

All of the Arlington Group needs to do as Clay Yarborough indicated at this meeting and either write or call him and all 5 of the at large this week prior to the city council meeting on the budget and let them know where you are on the budget. Clay said although it's always nice to have a large crowd at the city council meeting, waiting until the night the bill is on the calendar to speak about it, is not as effective as writing before the bill comes up for the final vote before the council. Please write or call this week before the council meeting!
