This is very interesting, but not surprising, for there has been an undercurrent spreading, and sometimes surfacing, among members of Congress, prominent government figures, conservative media, and right here on the FCTP website in blog postings and comments by members, with regard to impeachment. Republican Senator Rand Paul has spoken publicly in favor of it. So has Democrat Representative Anthony Weiner. The U.S. House of Representatives is where impeachment proceedings would originate against President Barack Hussein Obama. If the House of Representives were to vote to impeach him, it would then be up to the U.S. Senate to vote whether or not to remove him from the presidency.
As we know, President William Jefferson Clinton was impeached by the U.S. House of Representatives. The Senate voted not to remove him from office. And, as we have seen since that Impeachment and the unseemly circumstances surrounding the grounds for it, the liberal-progressive media never refer to that part of Clinton's indelible history and they continue to lionize him to this day.
Obama's taking this country to war, under the auspices of the United Nations and without authority being given him by the U.S. Congress, was done knowingly and deliberately by him, for his own words in 2007 document that he well knew that such an action was unconstitutional. He did it anyway. He has also flatly refused to enforce immigration, border security, and election laws, and even refused to prosecute Muslim Brotherhood members who intimidated and threatened American voters at the polls. He also sued a sovereign state to makeit stop enforcing the integrity of its own borders, one of which is an international border that the federal government failed and refused to protect. He also colluded with majority Democrats in Congress, who held a monopoly in Congress for the first two years of his presidency, to cooperate in running our Congress like the Chicago political machine. In other words, anything goes when it comes to using stealth, every under-the-table and back door trick they can stoop to, and heavy-duty pressuring to keep members towing the party line.
Obama has made very clear to the American people and to the world that he intends to fundamentally transform the United States of America and has made very clear his contempt for the U.S. Constitution. We have seen evidence of his following through on his intentions by his usurping of powers belonging only to the Legislative Branch of government, specifically by legislating through the rule-making authority of federal agencies. He has also legislated by executive fiat in the form of Executive Orders. We have seen his allied Democrat leaders in Congress pressure Democrat Representatives and Senators into lock-step passing of legislation both they and Obama knew to be unconstitutional, the most egregious being what has now become known as "Obamacare." During the legislative process leading up to passage of that abomination, the voices of conservative Americans were silenced and ignored, by the almost total shutting out of their elected Republican House of Representatives and Senate members from the process. In other words, we were disenfranchised.
Now we see calls for impeachment from the four corners of the internet, from the four corners of this great country, and across the political spectrum. So, is anyone surprised by this? If anyone is..., they haven't been paying attention.
Here is the lead-in to the source article. You can read the rest of the breaking news article by clicking on the link below it:
"A prominent libertarian constitutional lawyer and civil libertarian has drafted an article of impeachment against President Obama over his attack on Libya, throwing down a legal gauntlet that could be picked up by some Congressional Republicans
Bruce Fein, a former Reagan administration official in the Department of Justice and chairman of American Freedom Agenda writes in his 15-page argument of Obama’s course that “Barack Hussein Obama has mocked the rule of law, endangered the very existence of the Republic and the liberties of the people, and perpetrated an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor.”

Now, now, now! Keep it civil. I don't bite on ad hominem aspersions. That doesn't work with me.
I am a realist and I still think impeachment would be a waste time. You and I will simply have to agree to disagree.
Technically, Bill Clinton WAS impeached. The impeachment process is ONLY in the House of Representatives. It is the Senate that decides whether to remove an impeached president from office. Clinton was impeached. Clinton was not removed from office. Read the Constitution and also research this if you don't believe me. Further, a slap on the wrist is at the very opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to the impeachment of Clinton that is a permanent stain on his presidency and legacy. It will be in the history books ad infinitum.
The damaging rule-making and Executive Orders cannot be addressed by defunding them.
By leaving Obama in office, nothing will be gained and a lot will be lost. And, actually, you don't seem like a rabid conservative, you seem more like an apologist for Clinton and Obama.
Technically, Bill Clinton wasn't impeached because he was not removed from office. After all, that is what is supposed to happen is it not? The entire process must be completed before you can actually call it impeachment.
Millions of dollars were wasted investigating Clinton and it became a huge waste of time for nothing more than a slap on the wrist.
The damaging programs can be addressed by defunding them. Something that Republicans are reluctant to do, since that same process could also be used against them in the future with the Dems in charge.
The way I look at is nothing ventured -- nothing gained.
It's a good thing I am not up there trying to defund Obama programs, because Harry Reid would be calling me a rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth, extremist to the right of Atilla the Hun.
Bill Clinton WAS impeached and that will be an indelible stain on his legacy throughout history. Unfortunately, the Senate failed to remove him from office. It's a two part process that has to pass both chambers of Congress. I believe they didn't impeach him because global-warming fanatic, Al Gore, who thought he invented the internet was even worse.
You are forgetting that many of his damaging programs are still in place and he continues to openly and admittedly legislate unconstitutionally through the rule-making process in federal agencies and through unconstitutional executive orders. We can likely expect one of those executive orders to be for amnesty somtime before the election, and that, in and of itself, is enough reason to throw him out of there---but there are already constitutional grounds for doing so now, and they can't impeach him for something he is likely to do. Granting amnesty is unconstitutional and violates our border and immigration laws, and that was also true when Ronald Reagan did it. I really liked him, but granting amnesty was wrong, for it totally subverted the whole immigration process.
There were also calls for impeachment of Bill Clinton and George Bush. Neither of those calls for impeachment succeeded and this won't either!
This is a waste of time and energy which can be better spent by Republicans derailing Obama through defunding his programs at the House level. Think about it. If he can't spend the money, then he becomes a toothless tiger for 18 months.
Unfortunately, I don't think the Republican leadership has the guts to do it. When I wrote Cliff Sterns about this issue all I got was platitudes in return.
Thanks for commenting, Lee, but I totally disagree. Look how much damage he has done to this country in a little over two years. He still has ca. 18 months to go and can do a huge amount of damage in that period of time. He has thumbed his nose at our laws by refusing to enforce some of them and he continues to refuse to do so. He has thumbed his nose at the U.S. Constitution and has, in many instances, refused to follow it, in violation of his Oath of Office. And, he has acted unconstitutionally in many instances. Every day he continues to remain in office is one day too long.
No matter how much energy it takes to remove him from office, it won't be a waste of time. But, we do have to plan ahead with the anticipation that he may very well still be in office throughout the election and do everything we can legally do to be sure we defeat him in November, 2012.
If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
