Deal Committed Federal Government to Buy Pharmaceutical Companies’ Drugs In Exchange for Big PhRMA’s Support of ObamaCare
A congressional committee has uncovered the smoking gun in the secret deal between Big PhRMA and the Obama White House on ObamaCare, which the Social Security Institute warned about three years ago.
Even Obama’s campaign manager expressed surprise and alarm about the extent of the sell out in an email written to a PhRMA lobbyist back in 2010:
“What the hell?” White House Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina, who is now Obama’s campaign manager, complained to a lobbyist for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) in January 15, 2010 email. “This wasn’t part of our deal.”
On June 20, 2009, the Social Security Institute sent out a Seniors’ Alert warning that the pharmaceutical industry and the Obama Administration had cut a secret deal to enact ObamaCare, which while it was made to appear to give senior citizens attractive new health benefits, instead actually structured ObamaCare to line Big Pharma’s pockets at the expense of seniors and taxpayers
Then SSI discovered the Republican Congressional Leadership was playing a double game on ObamaCare, telling their constituents one thing and doing the opposite. In December of 2009, SSI put out a comprehensive description of the bi-partisan conspiracy underway to enact ObamaCare at seniors’ expense, documenting the devious role played by the Republican Leadership in facilitating the deal by their passivity and inaction.
As we warned at the time, this deal would put old people out in the cold and into an early grave.
Indeed, it wasn’t long after that (as I explained in a Politico column) before Republicans in the Congress went beyond inactivity to active deception, pretending to oppose ObamaCare all the while they were actually maneuvering behind the scenes to cut off opposition to the president’s proposal to socialize healthcare at seniors’ expense. The Republican Leadership was actually hoping for ObamaCare to be enacted into law because they thought it would give the GOP a good campaign issue.
No one listened. Well, a few of you did listen and supported SSI’s efforts to stand with Senator Jim DeMint when widespread organized opposition to ObamaCare would have made a difference, and we did put a stop to the rout temporarily. But by that time, the deal had too much momentum and was too far down the road to stop; too many people had too much at sake.
Let me be frank with you: Far too many conservatives stood on the sidelines when it came time to take action to stop ObamaCare, unable to believe the treachery of the Republican Party and cowed by the audacity of the Obama Administration. In doing nothing, conservatives allowed the conspiracy of the century to unfold between Big Pharma, big insurance, big medicine, AARP and Washington politicians—all led right out of the Obama White House, all designed to feather the nests of these huge corporations at the expense of seniors and taxpayers.
After ObamaCare was enacted into law, I described in the Wall Street Journal how ObamaCare guts Medicare. I demonstrated why the president's pledge—“If you like your health plan, you will be able to keep it”—was a fabrication, which does not apply to America's seniors under this healthcare abomination.
Other horrors about ObamaCare also began to emerge, starting with the truth about the real Death Panel it created—the Independent Payment Advisory Board. Even as such details of this disaster-in-the-making were emerging, Republicans in Congress again washed their hands of it and stood aside, refusing to defund this monstrosity when they had the chance.
They should rename the Republican Party the Pontius Pilate Party.
During the past year, SSI has spent the money to write two powerful Friend of the Court briefs (read brief 1 and brief 2) in an all-out effort to convince the Supreme Court to find ObamaCare unconstitutional. We recently sent each Supreme Court Justice a copy of those briefs and included a zip drive containing thousands of signatures from SSI supporters urging the Court to read the briefs and find ObamaCare unconstitutional.

Nice point John. They are the ones we need to rid ourselves of.............most all of them have been there far too long!
I am not saying that these 3 folks voted for the bill, but they have been known to vote with the democrats a time or 2.
Amanda, when this bill was passed, they did not need a single republican vote to pass the health care bill (but they have the 2 progressive republicans up in Maine in a pinch for a promise or 2...........and then, of course, let's don't forget McCain who is a total fool and liar).
Thanks for the clarification John :).................... Yes, Amanda, and I am sure the republicans are responsible for everything Obama does. Heavens, this piece of garbage should never have to take responsibility for anything, but he never has. He has moved from public tit to public tit his whole life never taking responsibility for anything.
You think? I don't think so. Most hospitals right now are getting set up to take care of us by putting in separate emergency rooms for us................you know the ones where they dispense pain pills only. You are nuts lady.
If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
