they are not the same as Catholics. who have not tried to impose their doctrines on other faiths at the cost of lives. you may point to the Crusades if you wish, but every religion that espoused violence at one time or another has undergone transformation through the Enlightenment. except Islam.

if the " rule of Law " is so important to you why is this a problem defending OUR legal system and rights ?

you may claim to be conservative, no mater. I am sure you are for equal rights for women.         try that under Sharia, Amanda.

Well Patricia we are communicating on the internet, totally built by the government. They built it and then gave it away to us to use. NIH what is their nefarious deeds. Regulations you say. Too many regulations. Without regs corporations would face no recourse to their actions,that would be great. Bhopal comes to mind. When I look around the globe I see countries with governments across the spectrum. Those governments that are willing to place limits that protect its citizens from bad actors seem to be the most appealing. Not nanny state, but one free of rules written by lobbyists who buy their own laws. Look at the Continuing Resolution just passed, Monsanto and the NRA had provisions placed in that bill anonymously that place those orginizations outside the law and above the scrutiny every other American faces. That is what to me, as a conservative, is bad government. I believe in freedom AND the rule of law. They live together in a dynamic tension.

Well, Amanda, if you believe in big government and not small government then, please don't try convincing me you are a conservative, because you are not!  You are a liberal that believes the only one capable of doing anything is government.  I do not feel that way at all, and in fact, believe most of the problems we have are directly related to the government getting in the midst of things choosing winners and losers, giving special favors to special friends and paying for it with the taxpayers money, stealing money while promising to save it for our retirements and then, spending it, subsidizing most of the programs they run unsuccessfully and on and on.  Good luck but I also not not a sheeple, and I am not buying your statements period.  You are a liberal even if you don't recognize it.  And this is my last comment on this blog!

This is the same argument made about Catholics when they started emigrating to the US. Divorce is still legal, we don't have to eat fsh on Friday, we don't worship statues. Why? Because there is a separation of church and state. This is just a waste of time. We have real problems that these guys should be working on that matter.
Patricia as to why, because I am a conservative. But that doesn't mean that I have to be a sheeple. I don't buy the fact that small government cannot be effective at doing their job.

This is a non issue. Waste of time. Let's make a law against the sun rising in the west. Against L following C in the alphabet. A law against dogs breeding with cats. A law opposing the free practice of gravity. Hooey.
