Government is so out of control, sending refund checks to people who do not pay taxes or are in prison or dead, rampant fraud in our government funded medical and welfare programs, programs that are duplicates or antiquated or created as temporary but never stopped being funded. Continuing to bail out states like California, New York, Michigan, Connecticut and Michigan is an exercise in futilty as they continue to spend and expand entitlement programs and pass regulations and higher taxes on their citizens and businesses.
Federal government has insinuated itself into too many areas that rightfully belong to the states. We need to examine the necessity of major government departments such as the Dept. of Education, the IRS, EPA and others which have become huge government behemoths (which may have been necessary at one time but have since become negative obstructions to growth and freedom). Sending billions in foreign aid which is then irresponsibly spent or confiscated by corrupt officials, or expand their weapons programs while our politicians agree to treaties that diminish our defense capabilities?. Do you know that in the 80's the Americans with Disabilities Act was expanded to provide SSI for drunks and drug addicts? Unions and government pension plans out of control? The Federal Reserve driving up inflation by printing too much money to cover the government's behind (ass)?? I heard last night that the Bureau of Land Management identified $175 million in wasteful spending.
It is so overwhelming that no one has bothered to really look at it. Every administration promises it but it continues unabated.
I don't think most people realize all the waste they are funding with their taxes. Taxes have risen much faster than wages.
We need to comprehensively audit the US government! We the people need to call for this and not just trust a committee appointed by the government or influenced by government policy but by love of and dedication to preserving our Country.
When we hear Washington talk about spending cuts let's really do something about it and not just to 2008 spending levels...it was already too far gone by then. That is merely tokenism.
Have any ideas?
