The Senate will begin consideration of the Federal Aviation admin. Reauthorization bill later today. This agency has been working off of multiple extensions for the last couple of years. Congress has been unable to fully reauthorize this agency because of issues dealing with pilot's flight time and funding levels. The Senate Majority Leader has indicated that he will allow this bill to be debated in an open fashion which means he will allow amendments to be offered by members of the minority party. This is a rarity for the Senate of late. This new comity was born out of a "gentleman's agreement" between the two leaders when they agreed to minor Senate rules changes.
When the Senate begins debate, Sen. DeMint has announced he will offer a repeal of the Obama Health Care bill. He also announced that he has 47 Senators as cosponsors. See the list
