The bills are now being considered. You can’t yet see the text of all of these, but here is the list. Start contacting your senators and tell them to vote NO on each one individually. A couple of these are a bit ambiguous with regard to how they are named. But based on the co-sponsors, I am certain they are anti-gun. However, feel free to wait until the text is available, but don’t wait too long. Some of these could get pushed through quickly because the Republicans are not going to filibuster.
As far as S. 34 is concerned, I have my doubts about that one. I believe that the bill would allow the government to strip someone of their right to bear arms simply because they were suspected of something or are on a no-fly list. We’ve probably all heard about the issues with the no-fly list, but the reason I am inclined to oppose it is because it is a measure that does not give the accused due process. All they need to do is “suspect” you. I’m not comfortable with that, but again, if you want to wait until the text is available, please do so. Personally, I’m going to oppose everything across the board based on what I know of the co-sponsors.
If you set up an account at Pop Vox (which is free and very easy), then all you have to do is click one of the links, log in, and then vote. When you want to vote against the next piece of legislation, go back to this email and click the next link.
If you don’t want to do Pop Vox, you can also take advantage of the Ruger Advocacy link. All you do is enter your information and Ruger will send correspondence to your elected officials based upon your zip code. It is quick, easy, and is another good way to be heard. I go to the Ruger site once a day and use it to send out a letter to my representatives. There is no limit to the number of times you can use it as far as I know.
Let’s keep the pressure on. Every email, every phone call counts at a time like this. If your second amendment rights are important to you, now is the time to act. Thank you!
For the Republic, if we can keep it....
