Mayor John Peyton will talk to the Police and Fire Pension Board on Wednesday, the day the board starts its public scrutiny of Peyton's pension proposal.
Peyton was asked Monday to say a few words and is expected to thank the committee for taking a serious look at pension reform for new employees, Peyton spokeswoman Misty Skipper said.
Skipper said Peyton is not planning on selling the board on his plan, which the mayor says would save the city between $700 million and $800 million over the next 35 years. The reform would increase the years of service needed to retire from 20 to 25 and overhaul the deferred retirement program.
This month, the board agreed to look at the plan and accept that "meaningful modifications" are coming.
If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
