Senate Democrats Attempt to Shut Down Tea Party Debt Commission

By Mike Lee    11/18/11

Yesterday I met with a group of concerned citizens to figure out the best way to deal with our national debt and cut the size and scope of the Federal Government.

We had hoped that by assembling a panel of experts on Capitol Hill we could shed light on the problem and propose solutions that could be used by our friends on both sides of
the aisle, especially those on the Budget Super Committee.

I'm sorry to say that instead of having an open and honest, solutions-based dialog in the halls of the Senate -- the Rules Committee, led by liberal Democrats, shut us down.

So we literally marched over to an off-site location and had our meeting anyway

Tea Party Debt Commission was scheduled to announce their recommendations to cut $9.7 trillion and balance the budget in four years in the Russell Senate Office Building. Senate staffers told them to leave.

The plan presented to me and other members of Congress is bold and effective -- perhaps just what the Democrats are afraid of.

How bold? The plan has provisions to:
  • "Cut, cap and balance" federal spending.
  • Balance the budget without increasing taxes
  • Reduce the spending of the federal government from 24 percent of GDP to just 16 percent.
  • Repeal the job-killing Obamacare plan.
  • Eliminate four cabinet agencies - Energy, Education, Commerce and HUD as well as reduces and privatizes many others
Thank you for your ongoing support as we work to bring real solutions to Washington, despite opposition from members of both parties.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
