If you have ever waived a pocket Constitution, worn a “Don’t Tread On Me” shirt or shouted “Taxed Enough Already” then I encourage you engage in this exercise in intellectual and constitutional honesty.
Write down your favorite candidate’s campaign promises and the constitutional authority (the specific enumerated power) to make those promises come true. You may be surprised at the result. And if you are surprised will you consider changing your support? I suspect most will not. Fidelity to the Constitution can be challenging when it conflicts with our wants and desires.
Politicians come up with many wonderful and great ideas, many of which I may personally agree with or may think would improve our lives. The question however is not whether we like it or really, really want it because it fits within our specific spiritual beliefs. The only question is, is it constitutional.
And please don’t rely on the commerce clause, the necessary and proper clause, or the supremacy clause, or the general welfare clause, doing so only exhibits an affinity for the phony constitutional analysis, mainly on the left, that has gotten us into this mess.

John, to share information to allow people to make the best decisions for themselves..........not to make the best decisions for all. I don't think any small group can make everyone else's decisions for them. Actually, what Cord suggested is good as it is an active exercise not dependent on someone else's opinion of anything.

JL and Roma and Tom: I have read the "Czech quote" before. It is certainly powerful. If the shoe fits you gotta wear it. We The People need some serious education in all things politic. It is true that we have been intentionally dumbed down. Intentionally. We let that happen though. It seems to me that we could really use some older and/or highly educated Constitutional Scholar types to help us through this mess and hopefully re-take our Great Republic. The Usurpers control the government now, top-down. I personally believe they are Bolshevik Communists, the very ones that Senator Joseph McCarthy tried so valiantly to expose. Does anyone else believe the Bolshevik Communists run this nation?

Terrifically well put (as usual). Don't suppose you would like to come at the end of the month (2/27) and speak to the Arlington Group about something like this? Agreed, very well said and to the point.
The buzz words they use to gain support is bad enough. We need to get our country BACK to the guidelines of our US Constitution. A really great book to read is THE ORIGINAL CONSTITUTION: What It Actually Said and Meant by Robert G Natelson.
He also writes articles over a The Tenth Amendment Center and works with the Independence Institute.
The American people need to listen to less opinion, less commentary and not to listen to all the PC~BS from political pundits, candidates, elected representatives and the press/media.
We ALL need to look very closely at and listen closely to the actual TRUTH and FACTS of it all.
Our elections, government (from local, state and Federal) and Congress have all been manipulated by lies and deceit...
The election in November 2012 is going to be LIES/DECEIT versus TRUTH/FACTS.
We need to get our country back to truth and honor

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??
If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
