Actions taken by the Jacksonville City Council Tuesday night:
Issue: Fire/rescue education standards.
What it means: The council considered legislation requiring a bachelor's degree of anyone hired as director or deputy director of the Fire and Rescue Department, or as the chief of fire operations, rescue, training, fire prevention, emergency preparedness or administrative services. The requirements would take effect July 1. Ordinance 2010-646.
Action: Withdrawn.
Issue: Park access agreement.
What it means: The city and Twin Hills Civic Association negotiated public access to a 12.4-acre private athletic field at 6743 Watoma St. off Harlow Boulevard. The city agreed to maintain and improve the park if the association would run sports leagues and maintain buildings it already owned. Ordinance 2010-795.
Action: Approved.
Issue: Offshore reef.
What it means: The city would spend about $37,500 from reserves to match a $50,000 state grant to build a fishing reef of scrap concrete offshore of Ponte Vedra Beach. Ordinance 2010-871.
Action: Approved.

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
