The Jacksonville Transportation Authority has reinstated three of the four bus drivers who were suspended earlier this week for not having valid drivers licenses.
JTA spokesman John Finotti said bus drivers Eric Marshall, Errick Fryer and James Davis all had issues with their insurance that led to their licenses being suspended. Those issues have been corrected, and the licenses for all three are now valid.
Anthony Barnes remains suspended without pay because his license had expired. He is expected to be reinstated when he gets a new license.
JTA has been doing driver’s license checks of their employees this week in reaction to a Times-Union investigation into the criminal and driving records o.... Those checks revealed four drivers without valid licenses.
It's not clear if the drivers will face punishment for driving without valid licenses. JTA is now reviewing its policies for how to deal with these issues, and expects to put new standards in place in the next few weeks, Finotti said.
