Franklin Thomas said he worried steadily about being thrown out of the home on Jacksonville’s Northside, where he has lived since 1990.
“Every night, you are wondering if someone was going to come to the door,” he said Sunday, standing inside the Prime Osborn Convention Center.
But seven hours after he and Deborah Thomas arrived at an event aimed at helping them, they had a deal with Bank of America to lower the mortgage payment almost $500 a month, from more than $1,300.
