Do we as American citizens have a voice anymore? We can go back to last summer to see the beginning stages of the title wave the politicians in Washington have created. You may recall all the townhall meetings during the health care debate. The American people vented their opinions and told Washington that we wanted nothing of Obama’s health care plan. Yet, after enough back-room dealing that would make Enron jealous, the liberals in Washington force fed Obamacare down the throat of America. Recall Nancy Pelosi’s infamous line “We need to pass this bill so people will know what is in it.” Last month, we had the federal government sue the state of Arizona for having the audacity to defend itself from their illegal immigration problems. Then, just this week, we had a federal judge erase the will of over 7 million Californians who voted to ban same-sex marriages. This is a very dangerous slope.

Let’s go back to the health care issue. For the first time in the history of this country, our government is forcing its citizens to purchase a product simply for being alive, or face tax penalties. Liberals like to say that this is the same thing as car insurance. Well, knowing how liberals operate, this is nothing more than a flat out lie. Nobody forces you to buy a car. If you have a car, nobody forces you to drive on government owned roads. You can drive your car on your property all you want without insurance. However, while operating a vehicle on public roads, you are putting other people’s lives and property at risk if you were to make a mistake. With Obamacare, the fact that you are alive means you must purchase health insurance. This is in complete violation of the commerce clause.

Congressman Pete Stark has made the news quite a bit lately with some pretty outrageous remarks. In a townhall meeting, he asked a Minutemen member “Who you gonna kill today?” in regards to immigration enforcement. You need to look no further than this man right here to truly understand the thought process of your modern day Democrat in Washington or anywhere for that matter, i.e. the federal courts. They simply just don’t care what people think. They are on a mission to divide and conquer. In Obama’s world, the federal government is king, and damned be the states.

Switch your attention over to Missouri. First, let’s look at a few numbers from the 2008 election. Obama only lost this state by a total of 3,632 votes according to election reporting from USA Today. Percentage wise, McCain took 49.4% of Missouri while Obama took 49.3% of the vote. Now, with these numbers fresh in your mind, fast-forward to this week. Missouri held a special ballot measure entitled “Proposition C” where Missouri voters could deny the federal government from forcing them to purchase health insurance. Remember those numbers up top. How did the voters of Missouri respond? A complete landslide by a vote of 73% to 27% in favor of denying government force to purchase health care. This is absolutely unheard of. Here is a state that was basically 50/50 towards Obama during the 2008 election and now 3 quarters of the state is telling Obama “We don’t want your health care!” How long do you think it will be before Obama files a lawsuit on this, or a federal judge steps in to deny the voters of Missouri? In Obama’s world, the federal government is king, and damned be the states.

Switch your focus back to Arizona. Governor Brewer, backed by 70% of the voters in her state, signed a bill that would have law enforcement strictly enforce federal immigration laws. Eric Holder, Obama’s disgraceful attorney general, labeled Arizona’s new law as a “dangerous law”. Shortly thereafter, Holder admitted to have never read the bill to begin with. Yet, Obama and Holder found it justifiable to file a lawsuit against Arizona on the basis that it had no jurisdiction enforcing federal immigration laws. Federal Judge Susan Bolton ruled that “By enforcing this statute, Arizona would impose a ‘distinct, unusual and extraordinary’ burden on legal resident aliens that only the federal government has the authority to impose.” What is the basis for Judge Bolton’s argument? Speculation. She has no legal proof that the Arizona law will be burdensome for citizens. The craziest part of this ruling? Immigrants no longer have to carry papers such as passports or visas. Try going anywhere else in the world without your passport and let me know how well that ends up for you. In Obama’s world, the federal government is king, and damned be the states.

Out to California we go. In November of 2008, California voted to ban same-sex marriage. Stateline.org reported “With 100 percent of precincts reporting, the ban passed 52.5 percent to 47.5 percent.” Over 7 million Californian’s voted to uphold marriage as an institution between a man and a woman. Naturally, “tolerant” liberals and gay rights activists threw a fit saying that this law was discriminatory. Yet, we never hear them complain about the institution known as the Presidency of the United States only allowing natural born citizens to be considered for nomination. Universities discriminate against students who don’t make the grades. There are certain institutions reserved for certain individuals. Marriage is one of them and has been since the beginning of time. In comes the federal government to the rescue. A federal judge, who has zero connection with California voters due to the fact he does not answer to them, ruled that proposition 8 is unconstitutional. However, proposition 8 was a constitutional amendment put on the ballot by 2/3 of the California legislature. The citizens of California used their votes to speak in favor of the amendment brought forth by the state. Yet, after legally going through the process of amending state law and millions of Californian’s voicing their opinions, one federal judge has overturned everything. In Obama’s world, the federal government is king, and damned be the states.

So what are we as citizens to do? Our imperial federal government is becoming increasingly overbearing on the will of the people. We have federal judges that do not answer to voters, yet they are able to overturn any piece of legislation the citizens actually desire. We have the most corrupt Congress in the history of our country writing 2,500 page laws and signing them into law without even considering reading the law they wrote. We have a president telling college students not to work in the private sector but instead “Go into service. Go into the non-profits”. Obama has told coal companies “You can build a coal mine (while I’m president), but you’ll probably go bankrupt.” Obama has told private companies “Now is not the time to be making profits”. He has fired CEO’s and completely ignored standard bankruptcy procedures in the case of GM and Chrysler. We have the largest movement since the Civil Rights Movement in the Tea Party. Yet, these people are continually scoffed at and marginalized by the Washington elites. It is straight nasty out there. There has never been such a discourse between Washington and the voters. Election day is near people. The only thing we can do is vote these corrupt animals out of office. Remember, in Obama’s world, the federal government is king, and damned be the states. We can turn the tide this November by restoring a Conservative majority to Congress. Get on your horses, and let’s get it done.
