OK, it hasn't been called just jet but the Presidential election will be a foregone conclusion by the time anyone reads this.

The Tea Party is supposed to support and promote the principles that this country was founded on and the founding fathers believe in.

President Obama claims to represent the true American values, and yet these are values that the majority of the Tea Party would not recognize.

Our culture is changing before our eyes and we appear to be completely incapable of stopping it or slowing it down.

Do we need to change the focus of our outreach to the community and perhaps offer more education on what we believe and why?

How do you reach the 47% that Mitt Romney was demonized for?  What percentage of them are salvageable?

How do we bring more minorities into the fold?   We have to be not only welcoming, but reaching out to those willing to listen.

Does the Tea Party need to start fielding candidates of our own?  The republicans have not proven to be politically astute in picking the best candidates.  Would we do any better?

Do we need to get out front of candidates, whether our own or GOP candidate?   What their fundamental positions are on fiscal responsibility,  interpretation of the constitution and bill or rights, freedom of religion, 4th Amendment rights etc?

Do we find a candidate that stands strong on all the things that we believe in or do we accept the milquetoast candidate that does not stand up for our principles but promises not to offend anyone with their principles?

How do we make our principles not be scary to the citizens of the new normal, the people that have adapted the new cultural norms and see our values as a representation of antiquated ideas best left stored away in the attic?

Do we need to define and come to agreement with exactly what our principles are and which are most important to us to be promoted at all costs.

2014 is still two years off but if we want to change the outcomes for the mid-terms and the even more distant 2016 elections we need to be making decisions now so that we have a clear plan.

There will be finger pointing and blame assigning coming in the near and long term, but we need to be level headed and avoid as much of that as possible.

I am hoping to see a better effort over the next two years and moving forward.

Richard, that is what is being discussed heavily right now, is that we just need to get the message out. ONE of the biggest problems we face is the MSM press/MEDIA. They are a huge part of the problem. We saw that many times over the past decades, and they have gotten even worst. I find it so unprofessional for a reporter/journalist to blatantly lie to the American people about the TRUTH/Facts. We need to call them down on it. I am constantly emailing and twitting when they lie to the American people. MORE need to be doing the same.

The mid term 2014 elections are just around the corner...

We will bring back conservatism and we will take down MSM press/MEDIA. Keep up the good work!

Amanda, You really have a problem handling truth and facts when others present them. They ALL did not predict a landslide. Some pundit did some did not. Boortz stated this week and last week it did not Lo@K good for Romney. Go read his posts. Larry Sabato felt the same way as well as Pat Caddell and many others on FOX.

Fact is Tester, McCaskill, Nelson played dirty early on. They ALL used character assassination like the Progressive Marxist Dems new tactic is since Obama rolled into DC. Nelson had extra funding from the multi-million dollar Soros PAC that was formed to defeat Allen West and Karen Harrington.

Did you watch any of the debates between these candidates? The GOP came out on top in substance. IF the million who voted for Nelson had watched the ONLY Debate Nelson would agree to with predetermined rules, he came off as a idiot, slow talking and very condescending waltzing around each question and not answering it directly. It is on YouTube. UNINFORMED people vote for poor candidates and with the lies and deceit by the MSM press/media the problem is compounded.

The Majority of the American people voted in a well known narcissistic sociopathic liar, who order a Seal who wanted to rescue US Citizens in the Benghazi Consulate to STAND DOWN and then watched brave Americans, Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean, Smith, Tyrone Woods, Glen Dogherty being brutally slaughtered in real time, 7 HOURS OF HELL and then lied about it, a man who order guns to walk and allowed innocent US Citizens, Brian Terry, Jaime Zapata, 300 plus innocent Mexican citizens murdered and then lied about it and covered it up. That is JUST the tip of the iceberg.

Obama barely won in the states Romney was hoping for just by a few. Go Lo@K at the numbers. Explain the last minute surge in Dade County by college students that waited until the last minute at 7pm to show up and then were voting past midnight.

Apparently you get your information from other sources, that is your business. I will post what i think is the TRUTH/Facts and let others make up their minds, think for themselves independent.

You remind me of a Progressive Democrat, they always like to tell others how to think and what they should think instead of just stating the TRUTH/Facts and letting people form their own opinion...

IF it walks like a duck … Talks like a duck… IT is a DUCK!

The question is 1st.   What are our core beliefs, and purpose in being with the Tea Party, 2nd Having established #1 how do we message that and how do we educate people toward our goals.   Our messaging has to have the ability to appeal to those not currently involved or not interested (disaffected republicans?) but it can't violate our principles.  We have to get the message out why fiscal responsibility is so important, why government staying out of our lives (for the most part) is a good thing, and I think we need to answer something more.....   If we are going to suggest that the local community should take care of needs instead of the government we should also show it, not just talk about it (as though others can take care of that for us).

JL, all those media sources you cited, wrongly predicted the election. They said it the msm had it all wrong . Well who was wrong? Tea party candidates lost US senate races in North Dakota, Montana, Maine, Indiana, Missouri. Connie Mack once he left his supersafe district got bludgeoned like a baby seal by Nelson. Republican candidates and their pacs and super pacs outspent their opponents on average three to one.
It didn't matter. The people spoke and spoke loudly. Obama will win Florida. What on earth must you see before you believe?
Let me ask you this, two questions. Would support the DREAM Act? Do you want a government so big that it tells women they must bear a rapists child? Answer that....

Leanne that is so true. We really gained a lot in the 2012 elections. There are NOW 30 GOP Governors. Michelle Malkin did a post on our gains and so have several other people. IT is what it is and the TeaParty and the whole movement has grown much larger and stronger, so has the NEW MEDIA that is getting the real TRUTH/Facts out to the American people.

Spread the word.

I do not know if anyone noticed but what the American people are fighting is just not the Progressive Marxists that have taken over the Democratic party, we are also fighting a very deceitful MSM press/MEDIA. That why FOX has grown so much in viewership and so has THE NEW MEDIA. Perhaps you can understand this explanation by Glenn Beck at Cincinnati FreePAC this past September 15th:

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/feel-strongly-about-current-events-...’s-new-‘action-center/

http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/25438511

He explains it all, and about their blatant lies against Romney, conservative candidates and the their numbers in the polls, he also tells how Americans can unite and return to TRUTH.

Great sites to get truth/facts are:
Aim.org
TheBlaze.com
Boortz.com (Nealz Nuze)
Breitbart.com
Drudgereport.com
FreedomWorks.org
MRC.org
TheRightScoop.com
TenthAmendmentCenter.com
i2i.org (Independence Institute)
Heritage.org
JamesMadison.org

Things are not going to be righted over night or in one election. And also keep in mind that 2014 mid elections are just around the corner. Remember 1994?

Share this with others. Spread the word.

Interesting Amanda, first Allen West is a good man. One with a spine.  And if the Tea Party is on a dead end road you better get off now.. Oh and by the way the Tea Party may of had a loud voice two years ago but they have been rather busy this year as well, doing the real work. And, just fyi they did not lose the general elections. Remember all Americans and some that aren't get to vote too. We are a small minority when you look at total numbers. If you really are that unhappy with us and the Republican party which is at least a huge step better than the Democrat you are blogging on the wrong wall.. And people who use that language here are warned once..  Just my opinion.

Allen West was a bloviating miscreant who spent all his time raking in the cash and consequently, because he sucked at his job, all that money made no difference. Go to Washington, shut up and do your damn job. Fix our problems. Solve them, stop kicking them down the road.
The problem is the platform that alienates every growing demographic in the country.
It is a shame. The tea party is on a dead end road. It peaked two years ago and has been losing general elections ever since.
The senate should be in Republican hands, they lost seats as did the house.
The first time the house puts up an abortion biil, someone should drag that son of a bitch into a cloakroom and beat the shit out of him or her. Stop the crazies.

It is my hope that we can get get involve and be involved with picking better candidates, have a better strategy for engaging all of our population and have a dialog between the Tea Party and its adherents on the grass roots level.   The best part of the Tea Party at it's inception was that it was a grass roots, almost organic movement.    We need to ensure that as it evolves it does not loose touch with its base as the republicans seem to have.

Amanda,

Allen West did loose.   He is an honorable man that I would seek out and want to be associated with if I could.

And yes, all our senate candidates did loose.   I grimaced when Akin and Mourdock both made the inane uninformed comments that they made.   I don't know these men or their hearts.   I don't know if they were deep seated beliefs or just comments.  I know that had they been progressives, there might have been momentary furor, but the media would have suppressed or ignored the story and be right in front to rehabilitate them working on the theory that the culture as a whole have microscopically short memories.   Look no further than to Elliott Spitzer who gets his own TV shows commenting on politics or even (our own?) Mark Sanford who is now a "contributor" on Fox News.

I agree with you, the fiscal issues are at the top of the list, and no, we aren't going to have someone elected who can eliminate layers of bureaucracy or make significant cuts in spending, particularly on the so called social safety net items like welfare, medicare, social security etc. in any significate way without riots in the streets.   We have to be willing to take what we can and be as persistent as they are.   The progressive have only been at this for 100 years.   We are just starting out.

It is unrealistic to think that you can solely concentrate on spending and not ignore the culture and morality (or lack there of) that the progressives use to justify spending for everything imaginable.   I say that because what they have successfully done in this election is to vilify any suggestion that we cut spending because we would (pick your favorite):  push granny off a cliff, take away mom's social security, make someone actually do some form or light work to get welfare payments, and the mear suggestion we cut anything will be met with the left's indignation and wrath!   Their arguments would be based on their own moral constructs and most importantly emotionality.

Yet we know how truly perilous doing nothing is.

I believe I made my feeling clear with regard to the RINOs (progressive republicans who love big government as much as the lib progressives do), as well as the so called reasonable moderate republicans who are only one step above the RINO's when I asked the questions about candidates (ours or theirs and what standards we want them to uphold (how conservative are they, how do they believe the constitution should be strictly construed or is it "living"))!

Any man or woman we chose as a candidate to support is going to come with their own beliefs, principles and morality that will become part of the narrative of their campaign.   I was not suggesting that we get down in the weeds as to whether they support a pro-life or pro-choice position, but rather what are their beliefs that are important to us.  I hope we never get to the point that we choose not to run a candidate because of who they appeal to or who they are i.e. white americans.   I don't care who they are as long as they are the best candidate and their positions comport with most of my ideals for a candidate.

I want us to argue with facts of course, verifiable, documentable and as incontrovertible as we can.   You have to understand however that most of those people cross their eyes when you start speaking facts to them, that is why my post was (aside from allowing me to vent my frustration) an effort to ask what we need to do and hopefully start a dialog and a little group introspection regarding how better to message and target those (of the 47%) that are reachable.   By the way, by your own description I, as a veteran, am a part of the 47%.

In my post I was speaking to the exact thing you did.   How do we get our message out and get candidates who can win!  How do we press forward with our goals.

I am sorry you felt pushed to the side this election with out expressing you opinions and being heard.   My biggest priority is a government that lives within its means and lives within its constitutional parameters.     My post was the first I've ever made because I want to get involved and because I do not want to be relegated to the sidelines only observing and want to be able to participate in the process.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
