Why can't Boehner and the Republican majority in the House throw its weight around the way the Dems did when Pelosi was Speaker of the House?  Why do the Republicans back down so easily?  Neither Obama nor Harry Reid suggested any budget bill at all.  Anyone who deals in mediation KNOWS that you need to hear both sides present their positions first, THEN YOU NEGOTIATE from those sides toward the middle.  Without seeing what the other side wants, BOEHNER is arguing WITH HIMSELF and his own Republican majority,  This makes the Republican, and all the fiscal conservatives, look weak and encourages infighting.

Boehner should have stuck to his guns, and had a press conference to say this: the House has passed this bill (Cut, Cap and Balance) and the Majority in the House believe in this budget.  It is our solution to the budget crisis.  We are willing to negotiate, and invite the Senate and the President to sudmit their proposed budget solution bill or at least outline of a bill.  To make sure that the proposed bill is the opinion of the Majority in the Senate, any bill from them should be signed and endorsed by a majority in that body.

In so doing, Boehner would have successfully punted the ball back into the other court, and could have sat back and waited for the Sedate and/or the President to show their plan.  He also would have gotten the spotlight of our headline-seeking press off of the House and redirected it away from himself and his bill.  THEN the press would have clamored to see Reid's plan.

The current crisis shows that the President lacks leadership qualities, but it also shows Boehner to have a lack of confidence in his own position and to be an ineffectual leader.  Boehner, haven't you ever heard, "You Gotta stand for something, or you'll fall for anything?"  Or are you so stupid you would allow yourself to be manipulated by the liberals to write a bill that you don't believe in that outlines what you THINK is their position?  If such a writing passes, and subsequently causes a decline in America as a nation and as individuals, you will forever bear the shame of having authored such a bill.  Wise up, and back up!  YOU are the cause of the current infighting in the House!

I will keep saying this until I am blue in the face. It's time to recall Boenher and McConnell.
They handpicked themselves for the leadership before they even sat the new incoming freshman Congressman. If he doesn't listen he needs to be re4placed.
Boehner Gives Tea Partyers Tongue Lashing
House Speaker John Boehner admonished Republicans and tea party conservatives alike to “fall in line” and back his plan for legislation that would at once ease the debt crisis and hopefully appease Democrats. All his posturing might go unheeded, however, as up to 20 Republicans (including fresh tea party faces from the 2010 midterm elections) announced they would oppose his latest effort, The Washington Post reported.
Congressional analysts estimate Boehner’s plan will slash $917 billion in spending cuts from the budget — up from his initial legislation which would have cut an estimated $850 billion. Boehner has reworked his plan furiously to abide by the GOP’s pledge to cut spending as much as the debt ceiling would be increased.
But Boehner faces more than just tea party woes. Across the aisle, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid opposes Boehner’s two-step plan, which would only permit expanding the debt ceiling for some months; another vote would be necessary in early 2012. Reid vowed that Boehner’s plan would be altered if it came across his desk, the Post reports.
For their part, Reid and Democrats want a more permanent raise to the debt ceiling, enough to cover spending though 2013.

Thanks Jim Garvin.  Well said.  It would be nice if a national media outlet would play it.

If anyone wonders why we are in the shape we are in with the "entitlement mentality"  Judge Judy makes it very clear.  Cut all the unnessary programs listed previously and we might get our country back.     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7XA2UUpXRk

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
