Thanks Jamie.  I thought what he said was well thought out.  I do know the small group that does caucus together find it very useful and enjoy talking to one another as they are all in agreement and can act to bolster one another's reserve.  I think perhaps it might have been better to call the caucus something else as Jim DeMint leads it.  It could have been the conservative caucus or perhaps they could have come up with something that defined them but left "tea party" out.

Otto, I also thought he made some very good points.  I know others do not feel the same way about it and M Bachmann in congress has quite a good sized group that caucus.  I think the caucus may be good for them as it will allow them, when they get discouraged, to talk to others who are as conservative as they are, and it may make holding the line easier.

I think he is absolutely right. We need Tea Party types in the existing Conservative Caucus and we don't need to have politicians involved in our leadership, whether real or perceived those in the Tea Party Caucus will be our "public" leaders and that diminishes our independence and effectiveness.
