Times Union: Duval County School Board examining student discipline

Huh?   Apparently, these guys missed the memo about the FCAT writing scores?   You know those scores they lowered instead of deciding to improve.  Are they serious?  They are looking at discipline problems in the schools; how is that going to help the FCAT scores or is the aim to have well behaved non-writing students?…

Times Union: Jacksonville Historical Society lists 12 sites in danger of being erased

Well worth the read and assuming as a cause if you don't have enough causes already.  Although Jacksonville, for some reason, insists on obliterating anything historic in our city, many other large cities fight to keep these building and  historic landmarks in good repair and used even if not for the original intent.  Those that run our city, apparently, are unaware of cities such as Savannah, Charleston, New Orleans, and countless other cities that have beautiful cites where old…

Times Union: Mayor Alvin Brown's position on Jacksonville human rights ordinance could be tricky

This is definitely a hot button issue and one where almost no one has a middle ground.  You either are all in or all out, and I wouldn't have touched this with a 10 foot pole.  Better to have just left it alone, because you can't legislate acceptable to something someone is apposed to and those who accept the lifestyle already accept it.  It is a matter of religion, and it puts our city government in the position of telling some folks what their religious beliefs can be which…

The Lonely Conservative: Creepy, Narcissist Obama Inserts His Own Propaganda Into White House Presidential Biographies

If you have not weighed in on this, you might want to consider doing so. Apparently Obama never got the memo about being a very small part of a much, much bigger picture, and personally, I think history will count him as one of the worst president's in American history!  Only a total fool so tied up in self love could even consider doing such an un presidential thing as to re-write presidential history for every president save one and include he or the G-String underwear…

Human Events: Feds consider adding poisonous rattlesnake to endangered species list

The environmental lunies are at it again.  The rattlesnake, according to the article is not endangered, so why would they add it to the endangered species list???   Here's a thought, let's dump them all into the yards of these folks that want to protect them shall we. If you live somewhere rattlesnakes are prevalent, they get killed because they endanger people, children and live stock and other animals and are dangerous.  How's the saying go about…

Times Union: Jacksonville Police and Fire Pension Fund study expected to increase city's contribution

And this comes as news to who???   They should have been making the contributions annually and now we will get lambasted this year wtih an increase and mandatory payment!  Glad we don't run our households the way this city runs the city government.  A mayor who is more worried about social programs than about the solvency of our city and a city council that is spending on discretionary projects.  You gotta love it!!…

Times Union: City, charitable programs help Jacksonville teens gain work skills

These groups could very well have gone out on their own, set their own criteria for eligability and the like, but they are for some reason giving the money to the mayor and letting him decide?  Why?  Getting the government out of this mix would seem the rational thing to do given the amount of money the government usually skims off the top to run a program and hire people!  And although some of this looks good, 1 day and an overnight at a college is not exactly life…

American Thinker: Lloyd Marcus: Obama's Chicago Thug Way Invades Wisconsin

Lloyd is on the battleground in Wisconsin, so he knows exactly what is going on, and it is not pretty.  Consider helping out.  I am posting some info from Tea Party Patriots Wisconsin, and they are looking for folks who can come to Wisconsin, phone bank from home for Scott Walker and be active in social media for the recall election in Wisconsin.  After reading what is going on there, and the types of things Obama and his stable of goons are doing, I hope you will fill out the…

A Slew of Taxes Coming Down the Pipe Thanks to ObamaCare

The Hill: Rahall: Keystone oil pipeline will be dropped from final highway bill

The senate plans to put together a bill with jobs in it but without keystone and force the house to pass it without keystone.  Certainly, we all know it came as an order from the marxist in the white house who is adamently apposed to the jobs keystone would create.  Let's hope folks are smart enough to get rid of a bunch of these folks in the senate (including Harry.......maybe he can go work for Obummer in Chicago) that have not passed  a budget in 3 years or done anything…

Clear Policy: The Ultimate Women's Issue

Yet another Obama fairy tale about him caring so much about women, and all the robots following him around like the messiah he is not.  When will all women be smart enough to understand this man is not their friend or for that matter a friend of the United States or anyone in the country.  He hates this country, everything about it, and the people and is punishing us by doing the absolute worst things he can to cripple the country and push us into so much debt, it will linger on…

13 WTHR Indianapolis: House lawmakers debate tax loophole question

This television station did a week long programming effort culminating an investigation after a whistle blower provided information about the illegal aliens taking money based on child tax credits.  The IRS has largely ignored the situation, even though they were fully aware of it, but the TV station has now gotten the attention of the congress.  It costs the taxpayers 4.2 billion per year.  Watch the video on the link; it is very good.  Lots of information about this in a couple…

Godfather Politics: Democrats Push for Wealth Confiscation Law That Has Some Nasty History Behind It

As I have said over and over and over again.  These people long ago forgot they are the servants of the people.  The founders wanted our representatives to serve for short periods of time and then, return home of THEIR jobs.  Being in Washington and dictating to the people is not a job nor should it be a career for anyone and hopefully, the people will be smart enough to rid our country of these folks in the next election!  In addition to what they are…

MRC TV: Dr. Wafa Sultan exposes Islamic values with Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad

I don't know of a good way to post this video except to include it in a blog, but it is well worth your time to watch as what this man says is certainly not the propaganda being taught to our children in the public school system................and I believe this man tells the truth about what he believes and what others believe.  And the woman's comments took real moxy!

The issue of registered voters who are either deceased or are illegal aliens (not PC)

A couple of article that should be of interest to everyone.  One talks about all the illegal aliens registered to vote in the state of Florida and the other highlights the number of deceased individuals that are still registered to vote.  Both of these numbers needs to be addressed so dead people and illegal aliens do not show up at the polls and vote in November.…

Times Union: Public transit not a profitable enterprise as exemplified by First Coast systems

Another nice common sense piece by Larry Hannan.  Based on statements about the government's responsibility to provide public transit (and they have always provided it at a loss), the Mayport Ferry is a shining star compared to the sky way and bus service.  The Mayport ferry actually recovered 58% of the cost of the service, but provided great service to the Mayport community by delivering tourists and others to support local business, so the loss will be felt by that community. …

Times Union: Council to Duval Courthouse: Expect new furniture

What a tangled web!   The furniture from the old court house was supposed to be refurbed (but the mayor didn't get it done (or delegate the job) as he was supposed to), but he did veto the bill for the purchase of additional furniture to replace (apparently) unusable pieces.  The council voted 18-1 in favor of new furniture, but after the veto by the mayor, both John Crescimbeni and Richard Clark voted against buying the new furniture.  So although you may not be in favor…

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
