Well I never....

This election has been full of twists and turns. But I never thought I would see a day when one candidate linked the other to the Kennedy assassination and the other would claim his opponent was inflicted with venereal disease.
And I thought Leicester winning the Premier League was a long shot.

Uh, sorry Rick, that is against the law

Rick Scott fired the head of FDLE, which by law, he is not allowed to do. But more importantly, he lied about it.…

My Most Sincere Apology

I have stated for months that there was no voter fraud here in Florida and that the laws passed were done so to suppress the vote and not end voter fraud. But I was wrong there has been discovered a widespread voter fraud right here in Florida. Though the new laws did not specifically catch these criminals it does show that the problem exists.  I was wrong. Here is a link to the story:…

House Votes to Change Rules on Sequestration

For over two years, facing mounting deficits, members of both parties have limited the context of the discussion on how to deal with our debt and deficits. Unable to reach a compromise last summer, they enacted triggers, sequestration, that went after programs both sides held sacrosanct, to engender co-operation and soltutions. These triggers were designed to impact programs dearly held by both parties. Now the House has voted to change the rules. It doesn't want the triggers designed to…

Happy 4/20!!

Hey all you freedom loving libertarians, today is the day to celebrate! It is time we all learn to love to this day and demand its freedom.

I give you  the latest salvo in the drug war, a war begun forty years ago and guess what, we lost.It is unwinnable because it is immoral and poorly thought out. Why are we letting the bad guys make all the money?

See ya at the flagpole.…

Santorum Pulls Out

An inability to secure a rock hard win in his home state of Pennsylvania prompted Rick Santorum to pull out today. Santorum has maintained and just reiterated  last week that he was opposed to pulling out under any circumstances. But alas, the strong possibility of losing in his home state proved too much, leaving his prospects for the presidency unfulfilled. Without victory in Pennsylvania, the long shot chance of Santorum to secure  victories in the remaining primaries became beyond…

January 19, 2012

In political terms this date, as David Halperin said, will be a whole chapter in the story of this election, no matter the outcome.

Perry dropped out and then gives his best political speech of his candidacy in endorsing Newt. Minutes later, Newt gets sideswiped by his ex-wife who claims that he, after his affair was discovered, wanted an open marriage.

Mitt sounds like Porky Pig every time he tries to explain his taxes and it is reported that he has millions parked offshore in…

McConnell Dumps Tea Party Overboard

Senator McConnell has made a political calculation that I feel will come and bite him. Let us hope so.

Then old chicken lips will get what he deserves.

Florida Senate District Plans

This is one of many ways this thing could go. Under the Senate plan NE Florida loses some representation.

Now is the Time to Pay Attention!

The Redistricting Commission is about to announce their final plans on their redistricting efforts.

There are over a hundred versions of the maps put forth by the commission and others.

Over a hundred different ways to skin that cat.

The Fair District Ammendment to our state constitution puts clear rules in place when these districts are drawn and it will be up to us to ensure the law is followed.

This is our chance to have representative districts, districts…

Be Plain Mr. Cain

Mr. Cain, you have prided yourself as being the candidate that tells it like it is.

Now is the time to do so.

Politico notified you ten days in advance of publishing the article that refers to the charges of sexual harrassment during your tenure as head of National Restuarant Association. They requested comments, clarification or criticism from you. You provided none.

Then you spent the first 24 hours of this story changing yours.

Sorry, but that is not what you…

I Am a 99%er!

I know the Occupy Wall Street group is taking some hits in the media, and not all of the actors within the orginization are the type of people you might have over for dinner. But the notion they have that for the most part that 99% of the people have taken it on the chin for the 1% is something I can agree with wholeheartedly.

And to expect accountability from this group, this one percent, seems to be well within the Constitution. We are a nation of laws first and foremost. Not men…

This Is a Bad Idea, With a History as Such

Howard Troxler is retiring from the St Pete Times this weekend. He has been a voice for Floridians for many years. His willingness to represent working Floridians interests as a journalist is unparalleled.

This story reflects one of the last issues he took on before retiring. These leadership funds are toxic to our state government. These guys should be responsive to their constituents, not leadership that has its own agenda, securing leadership fund…

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
