Hello Patriots! It is time to once again have our voices heard with those we've elected to represent us in the nations capital. We are all aware of the very serious nature related to any strike on Syria. The ripple effect could prove to be beyond anything we could imagine and while we face many issues that must be addressed this one is of the utmost importance. No one should sit on the sidelines waiting to see who wins the game. There will not be a winner.
Please act now.
EMAIL AND/OR CALL

Sample letter #1:
Dear (Senator or Congressman)
Please oppose any and all involvement of the US and the US military in Syria. It is doubtful that American involvement will deter future chemical attacks but US involvement would result in another ineffective resolution. The Congress has shamefully allowed this Administration to make cut to the US defense to the point that is questionable if we can even defend our own soil. The President’s plan to strike or punish Syria is an example of the Administrations lack of knowledge and experience in trying to create a foreign policy where there is none. The President has consistently maintained that he could negotiate conflicts to a peaceful settlement and he should be sent to do so in Syria.
Respectfully,
KrisAnne has published an open letter to send to our representatives/senators in Congress. I hope that you will do just that if you agree with her. Please feel free to share it with your friends, family and fellow tea party patriots.

Sample letter #2:
Dear (Senator, Congressman),
As you are pressed to consider launching an attack on the Syrian people and their government I would hope you would consider the following facts.
Our Constitution was created to limit the federal government in its power and authority. The mission statement of the Constitution is contained in the preamble:
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the Blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.(emphasis mine)
The purpose of our Constitution is to “secure the Blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.” With that prime directive in mind, it is incumbent upon the federal government to “provide for the common defense.” I would like to draw your attention the word “defense”. This does not authorize the federal government to engage in offensive actions. It is a requirement to defend the Blessings of liberty. This essential principle is further illustrated in a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to Elbridge Gerry Philadelphia, Jan. 26, 1799:
“I am for relying, for internal defence (sic), on our militia solely, till actual invasion, and for such a naval force only as may protect our coasts and harbors from such depredations as we have experienced; and not for a standing army in time of peace, which may overawe the public sentiment; nor for a navy, which, by its own expenses and the eternal wars in which it will implicate us, will grind us with public burdens, & sink us under them. And I am not for linking ourselves by new treaties with the quarrels of Europe; entering that field of slaughter to preserve their balance….”
What the president is asking you to do is not only contrary to Constitutional principles; it is in violation of federal law. Section 7008 of the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Act, 2012 (division I of Public Law 112–74; 125 Stat. 1195), declares the United States is legally prohibited from providing foreign assistance to any country whose duly elected head of government is deposed by a military coup d’´etat, or removed in such a way that the military plays a decisive role. What is going on in Syria is a coup in progress. We have no authority provide aid in the overthrow of Syria’s government.
Finally, the assertion made by the president that the use of chemical weapons precipitates a necessity for us to become involved in this is “quarrel”. This issue is not settled however. Although we are being told that chemical weapons where the cause of death of 1,400, the parties responsible for that action cannot be so clearly defined. Several international news sources are now reporting that the “rebels” too have chemical weapons supplied to them by the Saudi Prince Bandar. These reports even indicate that this particular incident was a result of an accidental mishandling of these chemical weapons by the “rebels”. Additionally, many sources are exposing the fact that the “rebels” are not Syrians at all, but Al Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood forces attempting to overthrow the Syrian government to establish themselves as that governmental power.
Congressman, there are some very serious unanswered questions that MUST be answered before we engage in an action that could have global military implications. (Russia has made their stance very clear)Please consider the following:
1. What is the “common defense” need for action in Syria? Simply claiming “national security” or “war on terror” is not sufficient to satisfy the standard established by the framers to justify US military action.
2. How do we justify not only violating the Constitution, but also federal law by aiding a country that is clearly in a military overthrow of power where military force will play a decisive role?
3. Considering the great human rights violations going on in this world, in other countries (e.g. Slaughter in Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola, Sierra Leone, Mali, China, Philippines, Russia, Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, North Korea, or 1.2 million children enslave in human trafficking every year) how do we justify involving US military forces in a conflict between two factions who are not supporters of Western Liberty, are not trying to establish Liberty with a justified revolution, but simply killing each other in the name of political power and where we will inevitably team up with Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood to start a potential massive global conflict?
These are very serious concerns that are not answered and may I submit, cannot be answered with the information being provided by the president. The first object of my heart is my own country. In that is embarked my family, my fortune, & my own existence. I have neither one minute of interest, nor one fiber of attachment out of it, nor a single motive of preference of any one nation to another, but in proportion as they are more or less friendly to us. All I ask for my representative to have this same dedication to our country first, to our citizens first, to Liberty First!
The honest truth and unavoidable reality is this; you bear a great responsibility in this decision, perhaps one greater than you have considered. You must recognize that generations will be the sharers of this one decision. You cannot make the wrong decision if you remain loyal to the foundations that made this nation great. Do not make this decision out of fear, or a preference for national security. Do not make this decision out of political avarice. Do not make this decision based upon less than complete evidence. You must make this decision with clarity of mind and with evidence beyond every doubt. To do otherwise will be a negligent act perpetrated upon future generations.
Thank you for your time and consideration of these concerns. May God be with you as you do the right thing.
Sincerely,
The Following letter may be used as well and can be sent to both Senators and Representatives. Email information is provided below. Please add date. Be sure to change Senator to Representative as appropriate.
Sample letter #3:
September , 2013
Dear Senator:
I am writing to voice my opposition to the United States intervention in Syria. My opposition is based on the following:
1. I do not believe credible evidence has been presented that the chemical weapons attack on the Syrian people was carried out by the Assad regime as a story has surfaced that the rebels have taken responsibility for this due to mishandling said chemical weapons.
2. I do not believe the United States has the right to intervene in the civil war occurring inside Syria.
3. I do not believe Syria presents an eminent threat to the United States.
4. I do not believe our military should be involved in yet another quagmire in the Middle East.
5. I do not believe we can bear the expense of yet another military action as our Country is currently over $16 trillion in debt.
6. I do believe this proposed strike on Syria is eerily reminiscent of the false representation used in 1995 to attack Sarajevo.
7. I do believe, as stated by Benjamin Harrison, "We Americans have no commission from God to police the world".
A recent Washington Post-ABC poll shows almost 70% of the American people are vehemently opposed to the missile strike on Syria. We, your undersigned constituents, are part of that 70%.
I demand your NO vote on authorizing United States intervention in Syria.
Respectfully,

Florida:
Let's tear up Bill Nelson’s phone. We know darn well why he is voting yes
AND Jacksonville, let’s make sure that we let Corrine Brown who is going to vote yes know that we the people in Jacksonville do not support her yes vote.

Comment
After reading through the comments.
I went back and looked at the reply I received from Bill Nelson, it was exactly the same as the one Beth Heath put in her comment.
Jean Winter, do you know when you write a letter in the TU. You can go to www.jacksonville.com "opinions" "letters from readers". Then you can read comments about your letter and also make your own comments. You can also read and comment on other letter and articles, that you are interested in.
Outstanding Everyone.
I just commented on a First Coast News page that lands right on FaceBook.. They stated that Bill Nelson had come out and stated he would support the presidents decision. Well, like you I was polite but made it very clear that Senator Nelson VOTES AGAINST THE PEOPLE 100% of the time so we would have expected nothing different. The sad thing as I stated is that he was elected to represent the People not the party. That thanks to those like him who vote party and not America we are no longer that shinning city on the hill. Well done FCTP Patriots. THANK YOU SO MUCH..
Here's Bill Nelson's reply:
Mr. Nelson,
Although your response ignores my request to oppose any and all involvement of the US and the US military in Syria, I would be remiss not to remind you that you were elected to represent the will of the people, not your will, or the will of those you mention that you will follow on this issue. Those four you choose to follow: 1) Do not represent the will of the people or the majority on this issue; 2) do not have any success in solving America’s problems; and 3) do not have a strong foreign policy. You mention limited duration but during our lifetime, America has entered conflicts intended to be of short duration that lasted years and costs the lives of thousands of Americans and never, ever accomplished the intended goal. The Senate and this Administration has shamefully allowed so many cuts and unpaid furloughs to the Department of Defense that informed Americans doubt our ability to defend ourselves, much less another country in civil war. Since the President has consistently maintained a platform of just sitting down with Middle East parties to negotiate resolutions, he is the only one that needs to go to Syria. Give the President a chance and nominate him to go to fulfill his promises. .

Sent brief Personal message to Senators. My Rep is C Brown any message to her is an exercise in futility. D.C. Needs to WAKE UP.
Great letters. Right on the mark. I encourage everyone to join other patriots to stop this idiocy in DC. Also, watch the news to see if tomorrow's big Teaparty Patriots Rally against Obamacare, on the West Lawn, gets any coverage, and hopefully a big crown. Wish I could be there. www.teapartypatriots.org
Not sure this the place, but a poster made a comment we are spending so much time on the Syrian issue, we are taking our minds and focus off of the other issue. This is my rebuttal.
Currently we are not able to do anything about them.
All that is leading us up to possibly going in to Syria is why we have those other problems.
How come there are only a handful of people who blog on rants and raves. How is it Congressmen can say something and people as a whole, not, come out and say, you know what that Congressman is telling me does not make a bit of since, I wish I could talk to "him".
Even on rants and raves it is very seldom we have a dialogue, where we work at coming up with a solution or a mutual understanding.
For some reason with this Syrian Issue, I have gone to places on the internet that I have not been to, or have seldom gone to.
I am pushing www.popvox.com more than I have in the past. I am learning more about facebook. I am sharing more of the Syrian articles, to the people on rants and raves.
I am doing everything I can to be more informed. Perhaps if we had of had this type of capability, before Iraq started, we would have never had an Iraq war.
I go to article from Huffington post, Cnn, and fox and other. There are thousands of post to each article. The people are mad, fed up, discouraged, and don't understand the Presidents agenda on Syria.
If all that outrage could be reflected on a vehicle like popvox. Our congressmen would have to pay attention.
Here is a response I got back from popvox to some questions I presented to them. Popvox is a possible solution to joining in with Congress. I may cut and paste this to to other threads.
"Hi Ron,
Thanks so much for using POPVOX, and for spreading the word!
The vote discrepancy you noticed from January 2012 versus now is due to the fact that we are now in a new Congress. The 112th Congress ran from 2011-2012. The H.R. 25 Fair Tax bill from the 112th is available here: https://www.popvox.com/bills/us/112/hr25. The bill was reintroduced in the 113th Congress, which began in January 2013, and is available here: https://www.popvox.com/bills/us/113/hr25.
You can only weigh in one time per bill, but you can certainly continue building support by sharing with friends and associates. we get a lot of interest from Facebook and Twitter and people who share in chatrooms or via email.
Thanks again for using the platform and please keep sharing your feedback and questions with us!
All the best,
Marci Harris
CEO
POPVOX.com"
On the spur of the moment I sent a "letter to the editor" to the T-U against going into Syria which was published yesterday. Others could have written a better one and should. Obama has caused so many "scandals" for the people to fight (Benghazi, Obamacare, Immigration, IRS, and now Syria) which prevent us to coalesce around just one with our efforts. But after voicing your disapproval of going into Syria, be sure to go to the website www.dontfundit.com and sign the petiton against Obamacare. 1,116,939 have so far. Let's make it 2 million. Lenin knew that once you control people's access to health care and medical treatment, you control their lives.
Ron, thanks so much for the suggestion. I will check it out. I need all the help I can get with easy ways to make contact. Looking up the information and getting it into these blogs is time consuming. THANK YOU!! Have another 2 blogs to get our that need our action over the next couple days so your if your suggestion works you will see it being used. Thanks again. Leanne
One of the vehicles I use is www.popvox.com it works great and also shows the votes on the map of the United States. It allows you to make a comment and the comment is sent to all 3 of your respective Congressmen. You can use popvox for all current legislation. Check it out.
I don't understand why Kerry, Obama, and McCain are putting 150 percent into attacking Syria to help the rebels. It appears the sarin is a pretext to send missiles into Syria. I bet Kerry has explained the use of chemical weapons in at least 50 different ways. Now Kerry says we need to go in there simply because chemical weapons are in Syria and some bad guy might get hold of them. Then Kerry says if America doesn't attack Syria, it will give reason for other countries to ignore Americas warnings. Listening to Kerry, Assad is quilty even if he isn't.
I sure hope America does not lob a 100 or so missiles into Syria because Kerry believes that is the diplomatic thing to do. I am not sure yet why Obama wants to attack Syria. Perhaps Kerry has convinced him.
If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
