As the dogs and I walked out to get the paper in the early morning hours of Veterans Day, I saw the full moon glowing in the purple sky and thanked God for a morning such as this.

The air was cool and I shivered as I watched our two dogs roll on the dew-covered grass enjoying the coolness on their winter coats.  They were frisky this morning and played with each other as best-buddy dogs do.

The sounds of early morning filled the air.  Squirrels darted between branches on the magnolia tree and birds chirped as they awaited their God directing them to the first meal of the day.  I was reminded of Matthew 6:26 – “See the birds of heaven; they do not put seeds in the earth, they do not plant grain or put their food in store houses; and your Father in heaven gives them food.  Are you not more valuable than them?”

I said a special thanks to God for reminding me of the richness of His love and the security only He can give us in these troubling times.

Back inside, the aroma of my favorite coffee met me at the door.  My husband had filled my aqua blue coffee cup and handed it to me with a “Good morning” kiss.

He had readied the dog bowls with their favorite food and a treat on top.  Their tails wagged in delight with the slight breeze of the heater blowing their coats out from the morning dew roll.

Our rooster began to crow as the sun took the place of the moon.  The laying hens started to stir knowing that anytime now the “man in the house” would provide their food for the day.

The crunching sounds of our cat munching from her always-full feeder could be heard between the crowing of the rooster.

Words were few but feelings of love were all around me.  My husband had taken care of the needs of our animals and ensured his love for me with the simple gesture of filling my coffee cup.

My God had assured me that no matter if we are rich or poor, He will supply all our needs just as he has done for the birds and the squirrels outside our home.

I am a free woman and in a few short minutes I have experienced more freedoms and love than many across this world.  I am blessed.

I am blessed to live in America because no other nation is as free as We.

My joy of daily living is because some choose to serve their country and fight on my behalf.  I never carried a gun or slept in burrows of the sands of Afghanistan.  I never climbed a hill to take down an enemy as my buddy died in front of my eyes.  I never knew the feeling of a bullet hitting my body.  I never knew the fear of losing a limb and wondering what would become with the rest of my life.  I never knew what nightmares would fill my soul as I tried to sleep to erase the scenes of war.  I never knew how hard it would be to return to my life after watching the horrors of war.  I never saw the joy of rescuing people from dictators and concentration camps.

Because I never knew or saw or experienced what these Veterans did for me, it does not mean I don’t remember they are there.

They are my heroes and because of them, I have enjoyed this beautiful morning in my warm home with love surrounding me.

Thank you to all the Veterans who served this precious country I call my home.  Had it not been for you, my daily life would be different and the joys I experienced this morning are because of you.   I am eternally grateful for your sacrifice.

NOTE:  Please attend a Veterans’ Day Parade in your hometown.  Shake the hand of a vet and thank him for giving you liberty.  Pick up a couple of gift cards and have them in your wallet to hand out to a Veteran or someone in the Military.  Do something for a Vet today.  He did something for you – he gave you the gift of freedom to enjoy your every day life.  How awesome is that?

Thank you for your service Mr. Langenfeld.  I was in the Navy but I was in during a time of peace so my sacrifice was not quite the same as those that did so during war times such as yourself.  You saw things that most never have seen, and hopefully will never have to see.  You are right we should all make sure we stop to say thank you to those that are serving and have served in the past.

Excellent!  When it comes from the heart, humbly and honestly, the words flow and are pregnant with meaning.  Sid

don't know what to say,i as veteran[nam 73-74] i fly the flags everyday stars and stripes,pow-mia and my nam flag. don't never take them down they fly 24-7 365.you know i could get into a long rant bout the way things are,but all i'm going to say is that theres 58000 names on a wall in washington that gave their all.and the way that we are being trampled on and our freedoms being eroded its a shame that theres even a wall with names on it. i would guess that they are in their graves wondering why did i die and give my all for people that disrepect my flag, my country,my family, the consitution. we are a blessed nation no doubt, but the time to stand is long over due and we are facing an up hill battle. because the elitise have already picked who they want to be their next puppet to do their bidding.as we go to parades and outings today lets not forget the battle that we as a people face. it's along hard road and the battle is weary but as long as our faith is strong in GOD,JESUS.we can over come. lets just remember what today is all bout and thank a veteran today doesn't matter ifs it's WW-1 WW-2 KOREA-VEITNAM, AND OUR TROOPS OF TODAY. i would recomend that we seek out any  WW1WW2 vets because they are the ones that sacraficed the most the places that they fought were in sirmontable[sp] comparded to where we fight today at. and lets not forget the forgotten wars KOREA,VEITNAM. If you seeany VETERAN today don't just shake their hands and say thank you. give them your best hug that you can give them and tell that that you love them and you are forever grateful for every thing that they have done and will ever do.

a proud veitnam vet[73-74]

Great post and something for all to remember on this special day.  Keep not only the veterans in your prayers but also their families and friends as well as they also serve along side their service man/women.  God bless our country, our freedom, our liberty, and one another.

PS if you are going to the parade dress warm it is cold out there.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
