CALLS TO ACTION: CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS SECOND AND FOURTH TUESDAY OF THE MONTH

We had a press conference last Friday about the City Budget. We have received numerous calls from not only citizens, but also City Council Members.

Everyone who called was very pleased we took the time call the press conference and have the document available for handout.

A copy of the handout can be found at the end of this posting.

We encourage you to contact your City Council Representative and share your concerns with the property tax increase.

We also encourage you to attend next Tuesday night's City Council meeting (9/14/10) and the fourth Tuesday night too (9/28/10). Here are the details of the meetings:

http://www.coj.net/City+Council/default.htm

We have FREE tee shirts available that say "Don't Raise My Taxes." If you want one of these to wear to the meeting, please call 683-3945 and come by and pick one up.

It's easy to put reports together...it's harder to hold them accountable to doing something about it.

The only ones who can do the Accountability-thing is you.

Will you show up?

Let Jenna know if you plan to attend and bring others with you. Let's fill the chambers and let's be respectful when we do.

Remember - we are the tea party and we are cordial, candid and courageous.

Here's the report...

Billie....Just as I thought, you're just a bunch of men hiding behind your women. When you boys are ready to march and fight City Hall, please let me know, I'll take the first bullet for my kids and grandkids. Goodbye

Hi all: Feel free to write the TU. In today's paper, Ron Littlepage cut us down for speaking out and said the City Council was doing a good job cutting expenses. I was stunned by his comment because he's the one who always points out waste in the city YET when we do, he shuns us and calls us Anti-tax. We are not Anti-tax. We are anti-waste and anti-big government. The issue we had was - what is the purpose of government and should we fund some of the programs we are funding? Have they cut deep like we have in the private sector? Have they cut deep like we have at home?

Why not write the TU and let them know your thoughts? If you can't march, you can write. Letters should be sent to letters@jacksonville.com.

The media must be held accountable for shunning the people's voice.

Hey Buddy: We have been doing something and your post does not recognize that.

If you are angry at us, then maybe you don't belong here. We are doing what we can and everyone is stepping up at some form or fashion.

Your comments about white men is unjust. We do not need to start calling names inside this group.

We get enough of that outside the tea party movement.

Feel free to speak but do it with respect or don't do it at all.

How about a march down Bay St. to City Hall to stop the next property increase, and lets don’t forget JEA?
If we can’t fix any the problems that we have right here at home, then how do you expect to fix problems in DC. Don’t forget, we have to crawl before we can walk.
A few years ago, our African American men organized a one million man march on Washington DC. Hispanic people will march for a cause, like immigration. If we could just find someway to get the White Man to put down his cheeseburger, got off his fat butt, turn off his HDTV put his golf clubs away, don’t you think we could form a 10,000 man march on City Hall. Believe me, in just a few days we could we could have our City Gov. eating out of the palm of our hand. If we fail to take action and continue to do nothing, in the next 10 to 15 years our kids and grandkids are really going to suffer. I won’t blame them at all if one day they stand over our grave, pull down their pants, and piss on it because we have really let them down.
You see, we have become a bunch of gutless bleeding heart wimps that's afraid to stand up and fight our Federal, State and City Government and a Judicial System that operates on a severe retarded level.
If you believe that your vote is going to make a differance, then ignorance is indeed a disease and so is being naive.
We can hit JEA and City Hall first. Anybody with me? I didn't think so!!
Your just a bunch of men hiding behind your women.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
