On December 16, 1773, We the People were not happy.
On December 16, 2010, We the People are not happy.
In 1773 an aggressive effort by the British government kept the British East India Company, a large commercial entity in Great Britain, afloat with a “bailout” by cutting taxes and regulations through the Tea Act of 1773.
In 2008, an aggressive effort by the American government kept the banks and our financial institutions afloat with a “bailout” and in 2009 General Motors was bailed out by the government too.
The Tea Act of 1773 created unfair trading practices and although the people in America got a break on their taxes, it was not the price of tea that made them mad. It was the fact the British Crown was taxing the colonies without representation. This was not right and the moral factor of unfair business practices upset the new colony more than the economic impact did.
The bailouts of 2008 created unfair trading practices and although the people of America got a break and were saved from calamity, it was not the bailout that made them mad. It was the fact the Government was doing something wrong and immoral in the eyes of the people. Rewarding those who made terrible mistakes and were bailed out and punishing those who were responsible was a moral issue to the tea party movement.
Many tea party members will argue that our anger comes from taxes and out of control spending. They are right and there is more… the ultimate core issue is that it is immoral to treat one group of citizens better than another and give unfair advantages to one group over the other. It is unfair to redistribute our tax dollars to those who make poor personal decisions or poor business decisions.
The Tea Party Movement began in 2008 and is still very active today. Why? Because the elite Congress does not believe We the People are smart or We the People are worthy enough to be heard. Nothing has changed from December 16, 1773 until December 16, 2010. Power brokers still want to enslave others so they can be in charge. Government Kings still want to set up special deals with their buddies and pass on the repercussions to the lowly people.
What the Power brokers and Kings forget about the original Tea Party of 1773 is the end of the story. We the People Win – the Government and Kings Lose. History repeats itself and people will not go down without standing up. The New Tea Party Movement is standing strong, standing tall and standing up for what is right per the Constitution of the United States. We sent a message on November 2 and we fired a bunch of politicians who had lost their way.
We will do it again in local elections coming soon and we will do it again in 2012. We’ve had enough and since we have no tea to throw into the harbor – we’ll just throw the bums out by the power vested in us through the blood of patriots who have gone before us.
PLEASE NOTE: We are having a Party tonight at Angie's Subs in honor of The Boston Tea Party Anniversary. For more information go to:

Fix yourself a cup of tea and enjoy this clip from “days of old." No one would believe it would they?

We must ultimately have term limits, obviously, for every elected official-city,county,state and federal. However, without individual integrity (instead of self-interest), even term limits will not be enough.
Well said, Billie.
If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
