Dirty Politics: Alive and well in Duval County

As Election Day gets closer, we see more of the underbelly of the world of politics and it isn’t pretty.   What is even uglier is the fact we have no journalist integrity in our hometown and we cannot get the information published about these candidates and their behaviors.

More questions about Alvin Brown, Candidate for Mayor

Today’s TU did it again.  They had the opportunity to do some great journalist work and decided instead to give their guy a pass and let all the questions go unanswered.  You can read their article here:  http://jacksonville.com/news/metro/2011-05-10/story/alvin-browns-wa...

We asked some questions about Mr. Brown’s background in a recent posting (http://www.fctpcommunity.org/profiles/blogs/so-you-want-to-date-my ).    After those questions were posted, tea party members in Jacksonville and across the state took it upon themselves to delve into Mr. Brown’s background and have added to the initial list of questions.  We are hoping someone can answer them for us.  Maybe Mr. Brown will be happy to sit with us and answer the questions?   Maybe the Times Union (aka Tiny Union) will let one of one of their investigative journalists write something about this – even though we have heard that they are not “able” to do so.  Or maybe the special interest group who put big money into his campaign will be willing to ask Mr. Brown some of these questions since they have invested a lot of time and money into helping him.

If any of them would like to speak with us, please feel free to contact our office at (904) 683-3945.  We will put our research team together to answer your questions about our questions.

So here are a few more questions that we hope to get the answers for:

  • In the Jacksonville University Press Release dated 11/09 (http://www.ju.edu/departments/marketing/news/3364.aspx) it stated:  “Alvin Brown, the president and CEO of the Willie Gary Classic Foundation, has joined Jacksonville University’s Davis College of Business (DCOB) as Executive-in-Residence.  If Mr. Brown was the president and CEO of the Foundation at that time, why then did it show his wife, Santhea Hicks, as the Executive Director of this organization.  And why is Mr. Brown not listed on this paperwork?   http://www.guidestar.org/FinDocuments/2008/161/647/2008-161647979-0...
  • What is the Black Bottom/Springfield Human Development Corporation?  It appears to be an “offshoot” of a church but acts independently from it.  That is confusing language and we would appreciate some clarity to what that means.  See the Articles of Incorporation here:  http://www.sunbiz.org/pdf/83905135.pdf   Mr. Brown was on this board for a long time and recently came off the board.  Why?
  • We noticed Mr. Brown sold a home to the Community Rehabilitation Center, Inc. for a hefty profit.  What does the Community Rehabilitation Center (CRC) do and did Mr. Brown serve on the board of this organization during the time he sold the property to the CRC?
  • Mr. Brown opened a business entity -- The Alvin Brown Foundation, Inc. He opened it in ’05?  The business was open for less than a year.  What type of business was this and why did he decide to close it so quickly?
  • Some people have aliases, does Mr. Brown have any and if so – why?
  • In a recent commercial, it states Mr. Brown was an executive at Nabisco.  Was Mr. Brown an executive with Nabisco or was he a sales rep for the company?

ALSO NOTE:  We have reason to believe that Chicago and DC operatives are in town helping Alvin Brown.  Another question:  Why?  What’s so important about a local mayoral race in Duval County?  Hummm – could it be the Presidential election in 2012?  Could it be that this is a trial run for that election?  Could it be that if the candidates running for President do not win Duval County, they can’t win Florida?

Someone sent us the following email from a political operative in Alvin Brown’s camp.  See their strategy below and GET OUT THE VOTE now!

MEMORANDUM

TO: Interested Parties

FROM: Geoff Puryear, Targeting and Field Consultant

DATE: 4 May 2011

RE: Early Voting Analysis through May 3

Early voting in Duval County started on May 2nd and the numbers we are getting back bode extremely well for Alvin Brown: 53% of early voters are Democrats, only 38% are Republican. In addition to this, African-Americans have cast 31% of early votes. This over-performance among Democrats and African-Americans show that the grassroots efforts of the Brown Campaign are paying off.

Making these numbers all the more encouraging is that Democrats, and African-Americans in particular, typically cast ballots later in the early voting process. At the same point during the round one election, Republicans had cast 50% of all ballots and Democrats only 40%. African-Americans made up less than 17% of the voters at this point in round one.

Going forward, it is imperative that the campaign continue to press this advantage in early voting. Early voting is vital to campaign turnout operations for a number of reasons: turning out sporadic voters over a two week period is easier than turning them out over a one day period and, perhaps most importantly, banking voters early narrows a campaign’s targets on Election Day, allowing it to be as effective as possible during its final get out the vote push. The campaign’s field operation is off to a fantastic start already knocking on over 80,000 doors, 10,000 ahead of schedule. Simply put: if the campaign can keep maintain these turnout numbers among Democrats and African-Americans,  Alvin Brown will win. The campaign is on track, with enough resources, to do this by aggressively persuading and turning out every voter we can.

Action Item:  Please share this information with your friends and neighbors.  Our local paper will not do anything about this so our job now is to let others know about the unanswered questions surrounding Alvin Brown and the tactics they are using to get out the vote.  Also remind them that Alvin Brown would not meet with the tea party and participate in our process.  You can see his empty responses to our requests on our website at www.fctpcommunity.org/Candidates.  Encourage everyone you know to VOTE!  They cannot sit home and think this is a shoe-in.  It isn’t.  Everyone must vote to make this a fair election.

We stand with our decision to endorse Mike Hogan for Mayor.

The Tax Collectors race

Over the weekend our endorsed candidate for this race, Dick Kravitz, was sign waving on the north side.  He found out from a Brown sign waver that he was also waving for Michael Corrigan.  Michael Corrigan is running against Dick Kravitz.  He also learned that Michael Corrigan is supporting Alvin Brown and is getting the Brown people to wave for him and campaign for him (both Kravitz and one of his helpers at another poll were told the same thing.)  The reason we did not endorse Mr. Corrigan was because he voted consistently to raise our taxes and fees while on the City Council.  If this is true and we have no reason to believe it isn’t, then our reason for not endorsing Mr. Corrigan remains the same and we can also add the fact he lacks principles.  See more information here:  http://www.fctpcommunity.org/profiles/blog/show?id=4150782%3ABlogPo...

We therefore stand with our decision to endorse Dick Kravitz for Tax Collector.

Action Item:  Dick Kravitz needs help with sign waving.  Volunteers are needed weekdays between 10 and 6 and Sat/Sun between noon and 4.  The most important times during the week are 11-1 and 4-6.  This coming Sunday is a very important day.  Contact Dick Kravitz at dkravitz@comcast.net and he will assign you a spot and work around your availability.

Jacksonville City Council, District 6

Jack Webb’s friends aka “thugs” have stolen Matt Schellenberg’s signs and we are waiting for a formal arrest of his friends.  This is a felony.  The police acknowledged this happened and the District Attorney’s office is investigating it.  Some say this is just politics and we say – this has to stop!  It costs money for these signs and it is wrong, period!  Again, a man with no principles who thinks it is okay to use these tactics to win.  See more here:  http://fctpcommunity.org/profiles/blogs/arrest-warrant-for-city and see where another tea party member was standing with signs to Go Vote and he did not represent any specific person running for office.  He just wanted to get people out to vote.  Here is a short description of what happened and you can find his entire story at http://fctpcommunity.org/profiles/blogs/now-i-know

Out of the blue arrived a Webb representative and placed himself directly in front of my position with an upheld Jack Webb sign and extras to place in front of the adjacent Schellenberg signs.

Of course, as he knew I would, I drew attention to his positioning and that he was blocking my message, to which he replied that it was a free country, I didn’t own the sidewalk and he could be anywhere he wished.

I pointed out my purpose, to which he took no heed, attention or interest, it was obvious that his intention was to disrupt, intimidate and to block my message.”

A message to Mr. Webb:  If these are the friends you keep, you need to get some new ones.  And as a mother, we always said, “You are who you hang out with.”

Mr. Webb has been a consistent tax and fee increase voter on the city council.  He talks a good game but votes the opposite.

We stand by our endorsement of Matt Schellenberg for City Council, District 6.

Action Items:  Contact Debbie at:  meetmattschellenberg@yahoo.com

if you have time to hold signs for Matt.  Bring a camera with you to catch Mr. Webb’s friends and their bullying tactics.

There is a lot more going on with the local elections and we’ll have more tomorrow.  Don’t let the thugs do all the sign waving.  Volunteer today to help wave some signs.  It only takes a couple of hours and it’s satisfying.  We need some “real” people doing it for the sole purpose of standing up for liberty and not because they were paid to do it.  If our military can carry guns to protect liberty, we can carry a sign.

And remember, when you finish holding those signs and you’ve stood next to those “paid thugs” – go home and wash your hands well.  You wouldn’t want to bring those election germs into your house!  Here’s a great video to show you how to get rid of those germs and keep your home safe from election thuggery.

This post and the one before that Billie did yesterday: http://www.fctpcommunity.org/profiles/blogs/so-you-want-to-date-my

Take all the information and email it to ALL family, friends, neighbors in Duval County or that have more of the same in Duval county to forward it to all for the sake of our community. If each person would do that and have ALL do the same, so on and so on, with that letter from Alvin Brown's campaign group on top with the comment before it on top, and the information below, it will be a great grass root effort by FCTP. We need to get the word out that A.C.O.R.N. is still well and alive and working very hard in our area to hijack our government along with out-of-towners. That is unconscionable.

Thank you so much Billie for gathering all of this information. People should post it on local blogs also, church blogs, community blogs, etc., get the vote and get the TRUTH out.

THE TRULELY SAD THING IS THAT NEWS PAPERS HISTORICLY REPORTED THE TRUTH. NOW THE LOOSERS ARE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. THE PAPER MAY LOOSE READERSHIP, BUT THE BIG MONEY WILL BE THE ADVERTISERS AND THE POLITICAL ADS UPCOMING. IF THE CAR DEALERS WILL CONCIDER A DIFFERENT MEDIA, RADIO OR TELEVISION VERSES PULP, THEN THAT IS A CHUNK OF CHANGE. THE PAPERS ARE ADAPTING INTO THE MORE MODERN PAPERLESS SOCIETY, THEY ARE PRINTING TELEPHONE BOOKS, REVENUES AREGENERATED MONTHLY FOR THOSE ADVERTISING IN THOSE PUBLICATIONS. IT IS HARD TO CONVINCE SOMEONE NOT TO ADVERTISE IN 4 PHONE BOOKS IF THEIR ARE OTHERS LISTED IN THEM.MY DECISION WAS THE REAL YELLOW PAGES ONLY.

IT IS HARD FOR 6200 PEOPLE TO MAKE JACKSONVILLE AWARE THAT THE PRIMARY ELECTION IS AS IF NOTE MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE ELECTION.TO COUNTER THE "CHICAGO" SIGH HOLDERS, THE CITIZENS OF JACKSONVILL NEED TO KNOW THAT PAID LOBIEST ARE HERE TO SHOVE BROWN INTO OFFICE.

Mr. Webb and his associates have demonstrated both aristocracy and thuggish behavior; I question his motivation for office.  He states he has done much for Mandarin, ie. the Mandarin boat dock and park.  Did I mention Mr. Webb is president of the Mandarin Yacht club?

Retrieved from www.corporationwiki.com

"Mandarin Yacht Club, Inc. is located at 12380 Aladdin Rd Jacksonville, FL 32223. The officers       include Jack Webb. Mandarin Yacht Club, Inc. was incorporated on Monday, March 06, 2006 in the State of FL and is currently not active. Ford, Bowlus, Duss, Morgan, Et Al. represents Mandarin Yacht Club, Inc. as their registered agent."

Though parks are a nice addition to any community, when the house is on fire you don't worry about what color to paint it.  We have an economy that is dragging, our home values are down, and unemployment is high, shouldn't core services and tax reduction be the priority?

January 10th, 2009 T.U. interview Jack Webb:

The council approved his $900,000 appropriation to purchase 5.5 acres at 12003 Brady Road for added parking at the Mandarin Sports Association's Alberts Field next door. Webb said he lobbied the administration to put sidewalks on Aladdin Road to improve safety for residents, and construction started just before Christmas.

He's happy that the long-promised Palmetto Leaves Regional Park bordered by Interstate 95, Old St. Augustine and Greenland roads and Julington Creek is now only months away from completion and that its canoe launching site at Big Davis Creek off Old St. Augustine Road is open.

And a resolution filed by Webb to allow the honorary renaming of Greenland Road for late Mandarin High School football coach Jermaine "J.D." Hall will come to fruition Jan. 21 with a celebration at the high school.

"I am very pleased with the progress we made obtaining the property next to Alberts Field in light of the budget situation. But a lot more needs to be done in the community," Webb said. "I am also pleased a lot of these projects that had been in the works are coming to fruition, and that a lot of the infrastructure has been done, although Greenland Road's widening is still struggling along."

In 2009, Webb expects to deal with a proposed rezoning of a 12-acre site at 12276 San Jose Blvd. to allow commercial, office and residential uses in what was called the Blueway project.

"Blueway is representative of the challenge we face of the continued pressure of commercial development into what I deem to be residential," he said. "All we can do is mitigate the impact and resist any commercial intrusion."

He said he wants to find ways to improve the appearance of Mandarin's many road medians, and is working with the city to expand the Mandarin Senior Center. He also plans to hold an "open mike town hall to give people a chance to get up and share their concerns," including how Jacksonville will handle state funding cuts out of Tallahassee.

"How do we address that? We are not going to raise taxes. The political will is not there and the will of the people is not there," Webb said. "So we will have to look for efficiencies, cut waste and check service levels."

Mr. Webb made this statement then raised our taxes; PROMISES MADE, PROMISED BROKEN!!!

THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE AND WE ARE STILL SELECTING PAINT COLORS. . .

I hold my signs everyday out of a passion for justice and a desire to be represented by statesman, those reluctant to serve.  The elected class, from school board to our president, have an air of aristocracy, they just know more than us ergo are better qualified to discern the direction of our lives or believe they do because of our apathy to involvement.

We must question the motivation of any individual that denigrates our election process with thuggish behavior.  If honor were the motivating factor, the individual would be confident in letting the people decide based on merit and character alone.

My father imparted a simple evaluation tool, always look at the motivating factor.  Those motivated by money, power, or recently "equalization attitude" lack integrity, honor, and most of all a moral compass.  Evaluate your candidates, what is their motivating factor and vote based on facts not emotions.

I certainly agree with Joe.  I thought there may be a way to at least forward this information as an e-mail but couldn't find a way to do it.

This would be great information to share on social media (Facebook etc.), but right now the only people that can see this is if they were First Coast Tea Party website members. FCTP needs a public blog that will enable this type of info to be shared through social media, since the Tiny Union won't educate people!

I voted eaaarly, I wish I had known about Mr. Webb and the man who was waving  a mike corrigan sign. It would have changed my vote.

This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
